My schizo take is it's an unholy alliance of alphabet people, i.e. the faggy kind with tacit (and sometimes actual) support from three letter agencies. Judging purely based on the targets they go after, nothing beyond that.

I'm not sure what this is reacting to, but stating the obvious hypocrisy isn't a b-but both sides argument, it's a literal observation. Clams down. It's not anyone's business in the way the politics of the middle east weren't meant to be anyone else's, and when any major country decides to get involved it's pretty obvious there's an ulterior motive with 'we luv democracy and refugees' being a convenient mask.

The thing about this particular situation is that it can get totally out of hand in a hurry. And the Biden

I could see them at this point making a decision to blow shit up in Russia. To basically systematically

Putin's invasion of Ukraine was totally irrational IMO and against the country's own interests.

is beyond imagining anymore.

There is a really good book about the start of WWI called The Sleepwalkers: How Europe went to War.

The basic thesis is that WWI was hardly inevitable, instead it was bunch of countries simply not understanding each other and stumbling into it.

WWI happened after 50 years of peace in Europe with a highly globalized economy.
