They are seeing the writing on the wall, that no matter how delicate or brutal they go forward, their name is effectively mud for at least 5 years. Once again The West can't help but fuck over Ukraine.

If the ones getting lost, running out of fuel or driving right off bridges hadn't signed up to the military they would be the ones who stand round under suspended loads on the construction site, go reaching into live electrical installations rather than isolating them, go welding with the acetylene tank way too close to the hot work or other dumb ass stuff that keeps OSHA in a job.

I guarantee there was just as much dumb shot pulled by western militaries in all the middle east world cop nonsense but it didn't gain so much traction due to what the prevailing narrative at the time was.

There is absolutely no surprise that some Russian troops have been goofing their performance up, which happens in every war in human history, but there is also no doubt that such goofs have been overly spotlighted and exaggerated for the sake of pro-Ukraine moralization (or 'coping' as the kids call it these days)

Oh Jessica Lynch's convoy full of POGs. The Iraqis took her in and treated her which was turned into "Muh brave soldier gurl wuz made prisoner and raped then rescued by SEAL Team 6!" Absolutely disgusting, and Pvt Lynch said so (which is why no one brings her up anymore).
