IF
Ukranian troops have been routinely routed. A rout is not a surrender.
As they progress, there will be more and more resistance. Civilians are getting involved too which basically means they're dealing with guerrillas.
It'll be a fun shitshow to watch to be sure.

I wonder if the government didnt tell units to scatter with javelins and await the convoys. A forest brother kind of strategy

They know how modern war works.
Large military emplacements are not a sign of power, but a target to be destroyed.
As primitive as Ukraine's military is, they still have that capacity to deal a hard blow to concentrated forces.
This may be Russia's Afghanistan.

Unless you're a yerp there is no reason to feel anything but amusement at the propaganda

Russia isn't my country's friend and it has turned everyone but its closest allies against it and all of them but one are lolcow governments. Russia is looking like it would get assraped in about a week if it tried to fight my country and our buddies judging from its performance so far. This is pure kino if you're a burger-man

Donetsk People's Militia has been making gains in Mykolaiv (Николаев).

Looks like these guys are a long way from their home region. So much for being a "people's self-defence militia".

As usual, a Russian war correspondent is on-site. They even found one resident to interview who is happy about being invaded.
