If I were in Russia's shoes I'd use this to my advantage by setting up camps in Belarus to house civilians under the condition that military-aged males can't leave the camps until the war is concluded. Some of Zelenskyy's goons would doubtlessly get in civilian clothes and join in too. Zelenskyy himself would not really be able to say no to this since it would make it clear he wants civilians to be meat shields for him. WIth civilians out of the city, it would allow for a lot less restrictive ROEs. It's never really a good idea to put an enemy in the position of dying if they don't win. Particularly so when it comes to street-to-street fighting in which the attacker always takes heavy casualties.

The Ukraine has, emboldened by all this NATO talk, been poking the bear since 2014 and expecting the bear never to wake up and poke back. They miscalculated and the NATO allies should be chastised for leading them down a primrose path into this disaster.

I remember Obama fearmongering about super scary ISIS and making America seem weak in dealing with them, because he wanted Assad primarily gone.

I forgot which mainstream newspaper was it, they were interviewing local Iraqis that were surprised that America wasn't using "Shock and Awe" on ISIS positions like the initial Iraq invasion.

And then Putin intervened and all of a sudden, its "Russia Bad, Russia very Bad" for trying to deal with ISIS and keep an important ally around since they lost Gaddafi.

Hey Zelensky, durig wartime isn't normally advisable to evacuate civilians to minimize casulties, or is this part of some masterstroke grand plan to paint Putin as someone deliberately genociding civilians because someone got shredded by artillery because you didn't order evacuations in the days preceding the war?

Good for them. I'm sure they will get to keep Kiev and the western half of the country and continue their international money laundering scheme while being led on by NATO and the EU. I do think the eastern half where most of the Russian speakers reside will become part of Russia, though. We shall see.

Here's a hint, the migration pattern will go from east to west, like it has always fucking gone.
