In Comicsgate related news, it looks like ex industry pro Gabe Eltaeb is barely outpacing smelly CG savant Narwhal in their campaigns they launched at nearly the same time.

Gabe's comic Truth, Justice, American Way looks like an ensemble type superhero comic whereas Narwhal seems to be adapting the old silent film Nosferatu into comic form.

Looks like Gabe's got a line of T-shirts to sell too. His campaign seems a little low for an ex industry pro, I wonder if Narwhal will overtake him in the end... And Narwhal's Nosferatu looks more like a goofy nerd than a scary creature. I'm sure Comicsgate will hail it as a masterpiece though..

If I didn't already know Gabe's book was some kind of overearnest homage/pastiche of the "good old days" of superhero books, my first impression would be that it was some kind of TDKR/Marshal Law style fascistic parody of DC's Trinity.

Gabe's comic Truth, Justice, American Way looks like an ensemble type superhero comic whereas Narwhal seems to be adapting the old silent film Nosferatu into comic form.

Looks like Gabe's got a line of T-shirts to sell too. His campaign seems a little low for an ex industry pro, I wonder if Narwhal will overtake him in the end... And Narwhal's Nosferatu looks more like a goofy nerd than a scary creature. I'm sure Comicsgate will hail it as a masterpiece though..

The campaign has had a solid start. He's a colorist not that many people know of, first time, building his platform, new guy. It looks fantastic and I bet you this picks up good steam over time.

But my most likely guess is because it just looks kind of fruity and uninspired.

I think "uninspired" is the word for me. Say what you will about Narwhal's art, but at least what he's drawing is thematically more interesting than muscle-bound supers leaping towards the camera.

If the idea is to be a throwback to the day of simple superhero comics with macho men and beautiful women, well, it's a noble idea - but it's one that ComicsGate-affiliated creators have been exploring literally since the word was coined.
