Anyway, I watched the news here in the UK for hours today, and covid literally wasn't mentioned once. Move along, nothing to see here, forget about all the restrictions and the parties and vaccine data, we have always been at war with Russia etc.

It's the exact same thing which happened back at the end of May 2020 when Saint Floyd bit the dust. The media totally drops the story of the scamdemic that had been dominating headlines for months and hammers down a new talking point and set of marching orders, and the mindless masses simply follow it like that ALWAYS was the main story and isssue. The scamdemic gets totally forgotten, shoved to the back like old news.

I'm personally still seeing plenty of maskers/Covidians in public (yes, outdoors in public) despite the media shifting from muh virus to muh heckin' Ukrainerinos overnight with little self-awareness. On the plus side, I haven't seen Fauci's annoying face in weeks.

Something in particular which happened the other day – which absolutely and unironically broke my heart – was when I was outside getting lunch, I witnessed a small kindergarten class outside on a field trip, and the teachers and every single student was masked. In addition, when they stopped walking, the teacher ordered them to stand apart for social distancing but hold hands in a chain with each fellow classmate to avoid getting lost. All I could do was shake my head in pity as I remembered my childhood and all of the freedom we had to do anything (generally speaking). We rode our bikes to school, we had snowball fights at recess, and we even played fucking dodgeball in gym. These kids will never understand any of that.

I'd like to give the teachers the benefit of the doubt and convince myself that they were merely going along with the masked-up while outdoors bullshit as a way to not be held liable if someone gets sick, but considering kids are the safest from COVID-19 and their school most likely required jabs (sadly), the whole situation just seemed depressing and ridiculous.

I'd say that's a good thing. Much like the dangerhairs, the mask Covidians have their masks as a visual indication telling us normal people to avoid them because the probability of bullshit and unneeded problems happening will be higher.

"Tests" could have been reassuring or the wrong tests, you have to be more specific.

Normal d-dimer, CRP, and ECG and I will say good odds he's actually in the clear.

And LA County Update because I was all over today: Stores now have the decision to implement masks or not or vaccine checks or not. Literally every store is different and the various signs don't seem to be enforced. It's a bit nuts. The bar I went to last night (in LA City) was supposed to require vaccines but wasn't even checking IDs. The coffee shop this morning (in LA County) wasn't supposed to require vaccines, but had a sign up saying they were "definitely checking your card", but they weren't.

Interacting with coworkers today was depressing. It was like seeing an NPC firmware update in real time. The way they spun on a dime from covid bullshit to muh Ukraine is so tiresome. People need to take more responsibility for their health and that starts with being an involved patient. I mean. I assume you're Ina the USA, right? Even if insurance pays it all you need to know if a test is medically needed and not just being done to wring more money from you.

You should always ask your doctor "how will the treatment approach change based on the results of this test?" If he can't answer then ask "why does this test need to be performed?" A lot of testing is "routine" and won't really tell you anything you NEED to know- unless you're sick enough to be admitted to the hospital, for instance, there's not much use in figuring out what precise virus caused your flu-like symptoms.

You would think. I've been hearing that in some cases, those tests are clean, and the problems are only confirmed by a chest MRI. I believe the D-Dimer is time sensitive and the EKG can has subtle things wrong a computer can miss.
