Remember that the Ukrainian part of the Black sea has also trillions in natural gas.

That's also one of the reasons why Putin went after Crimea.

Zelensky apparently just demanded immediate EU membership for the country.
Putin won’t like this.
NATO's been breaking their own rules for a long time. Ukraine was planning on arming itself with nukes because they weren't accepted into NATO. And the reason they weren't accepted for 14 years ever since they applied for membership was the country's rampant corruption, among other standards not met.

NATO pushing itself right at Russia's border was needlessly provocative. George Kennan, the intellectual father of the Cold War policy of the containment of Communism warned against doing it, and cautioned that the Russians would react badly to it. The same scenario would be for the US if Mexico was brought into the Warsaw Pact during the Cold War.

Probably just doing it to annoy people. I don't know why he'd do it in this thread though.
For Ukraine!
Interesting to see that the Baltic states are funneling foreign fighters into the Ukraine now.

If this doesn't end soon, that place will become a hotbed of political extremists and factional infighting just like Syria or Iraq. Those kinds of guys go to trouble spots to get combat experience and knowledge they might not be able to get otherwise, and take it back home with them.

Not all foreign fighter types go on to become terrorists or are even bad people at all, but these kinds of places they can gain skills that could make those who intend to do bad things at home potentially more dangerous.

Or you could be that college kid in Libya who just helps the locals with physically moving objects such as artillery shells and speaks to them in broken Italian. The Redditors I saw talking about going there would probably more useless than both.
Disagree completely. This isn't Iraq or some other desert shithole. Hell, if a bunch of those soldiers took a DNA test they would probably only be about 4 degrees off center. If that. Europe, especially that part of Europe, is a small place. It would be like comparing someone from Maine to someone in Maryland. It's why a hundred pages back some neolib bubble headed moron journalist said the same exact thing, just ass backwards and retarded because he can't admit openly he sees people from a sandbox differently than people he buys groceries with.

IF THE DUMBFUCKS IN EU SAY YES, THIS IS IT, WORLD WAR 3 HERE WE GO BOYS
I mean they just might.

From there on forwards the chances of this resolving conventionally is horrifically reduced to almost zero. (It's non-zero because Putin might get couped by his own elites, but it'd leave Russia potentially stewing in irredentist fervour for decades afterwards.)

I don't think there's a legal mechanism by which zalensky's demand can be met
All we really need is a flat "no, but we can still send you javalins if you want" to advert nuclear winter, but i believe the EU officials lobotomized enough to just say yes entirely out of bloodlust
