Not too pertinent right now but man Swagginz is the most pathetic person I've ever seen. Imagine modding for and paying some dude who publicly humiliates you. Just rewatched the end bit of RE2 where Phil just plain gets everything Swagginz said wrong and screams at him about it for 30 minutes straight. On the one hand it's hilarious because Phil treats what is essentially a customer of his so poorly you'd think he wants to beat the fuck out of Swagginz in real life, but on the other hand it's just sad to see some guy get shat on so much for someone else's mistake. Yet he keeps coming back.
As much of a worm Swagginz is it really does make me sad thinking about being his exceptional ass and just how helpless you'd feel getting essentially bullied in front of an audience of hundreds and when you provide proof and chatlogs that Phil was wrong he gets even more pissed and shits on you harder and never admits his mistake. Moments like these keep the Phil hate alive. It's genuinely difficult to think of a shittier person. I think that's what makes him so fascinating, if you take out the obvious like murderers and pedophiles, and just think of the worst possible normal person around, Phil meets and exceeds all qualifications. He's just a complete and total piece of shit person.
It also demonstrates that Phil's handling of him isn't really HIS handling, it's him instructing OTHERS to treat Swagginz with kid gloves, because Swagginz I believe is the one who Phil told people in the Discord to go easy on, citing his autism. Or bi-polar disorder. Something like that. Point is, it isn't meant to apply to Phil, he gets to berate anyone he wants, which also really, really begs the question of why in the unholy fuck DERICH is the one he never seems to feel like yelling at, and will defend. Not even Swagginz gets that, even while being a guy whose problems will inspire Phil to issue orders in private. Something he doesn't seem to do with Derich, he's being as opaque about his real reasoning as possible, and I for the life of me cannot figure out why. Derich is hardly the only dent he has following him, and Phil knows that. He also doesn't give much money, which just by itself you would expect to get him thrown to the wolves.
If I could ask Phil questions that he's not physically able to avoid answering, one of them would definitely be about Derich, and what's really going on there, because him "adding meaning" to the chat is bullshit and the pigroach knows it. It isn't going to be out of compassion, his treatment of everyone else he has ever dealt with proves he doesn't have any, especially Swagginz, who he recognizes as rather vulnerable but still yells at, with no remorse.
The one thing that gets to me most about DSP is his audacity to scream poor when we all know this fuck makes 6 figures. Especially the new video when he describes his day off with his waif about they didn't have any money so they just stayed home all day. It's not even jealousy at this point, it's just a slap to everyone that's truly struggling financially.
Phil gets like that because in his mind, he IS struggling. He really is dumb enough to not figure out that he causes his own problems, that living from day-to-day isn't normal, smart, or necessary. His definition of a rainy day fund? His idiotic opinion of when saving money is supposed to be done? That shit is sincere, Phil may know that he makes, and spends, way more money than he ever wants anyone to know about, but he is oblivious to the way that that's the cause of his worry about money. He has not, will not ever, connect those dots. He can't, any more than he can figure out that his inability to perform a left-facing DP is from his inputs being sloppy.
Phil has really latched on to input delay as a catch all excuse in recent years. He has claimed multiple times that the lag caused from wireless controllers gives games like Sonic Mania and Ghosts and Goblins Resurrected noticeable amounts of delay. It provides him with exactly what he wants: an evergreen, ego preserving excuse he can bust out any time he screws up the timing in any game.
It appears as a go-to because he genuinely believes it. Do not be fooled by his failure to even attempt to address the issue by using a wired controller instead, Phil never does anything about anything unless it's no-effort, regardless of how much it legit bothers him.
On the Doc quitting ER, that does not really surprise me, this game is not something I ever thought he would play, and I assume he was payed a fair chunk of money to do so for a certain number of hours and when he hit that number he quit because he hated the game to nobodies surprise.
Which is why Disrespect is going to move on from the moment and suffer nothing, while Phil never gets to do that, ever. It's all about context, created by the person on screen, and Phil has spent his whole career setting himself up to get criticized for damn near everything, forever. He never had to claim constantly to be a huge fan of something when he wasn't, he never had to play every single FromSoft game when they were obviously going to keep spanking him, he never had to keep going with fighting games when his competition was obviously going to evolve while he sits still, the list goes on, but he chose to do all that, and now he can never win.
The Doc did something unsurprising because this isn't his wheelhouse. Phil did something unsurprising because it isn't his either, but he insists on pretending that it is, while being incompetent at selling the act.
