Ukrainian army and volunteers are state recognized veterans. Germany helped a lot with sophisticated medical care. Some were sent for treatment to US, pro bono. I know not of a single family who are going hungry or forgotten.



Donbas volunteers were largely not even recognized by Russia. Some got treatments in Moscow and St.Petes, but no disability, and there are plenty more before/after pics

The Bay of Pigs was a CIA plan hatched during the Eisenhower administration that Dwight put the red light on but didn't kill the project. Kennedy wasn't much more enamored of it, the plan was supposed to be the defectors landing with USAF air support but Kennedy said uhhhh no. The CIA bullshitted him about how the defectors could win anyway so he said okay go ahead. If there had been US air support the defectors probably would have won though, 1500 of them with no cover on the beaches held out for 3 days against 50000 Cubans with all kinds of Soviet provided artillery firing on them nonstop. The Cubans attacked the beachhead like 3 times and got BTFO each time before the defectors realized no the USA isn't coming to help us so they finally surrendered.

I want to clarify that I am not "pro-Russia;" I think that Washington has the dumbest fucking foreign policy on the planet and is ripping the Pax Americana to shreds, mostly because they can't put down the Fukuyama, but also due an enormous amount of hubris. If there was any step that could have been taken to avoid this war, Washington did the opposite, and I have zero faith in them to not escalate this to WW3, due again to them committed to the dumbest fucking foreign policy on the planet.
