I want to clarify that I am not "pro-Russia;" I think that Washington has the dumbest fucking foreign policy on the planet and is ripping the Pax Americana to shreds, mostly because they can't put down the Fukuyama, but also due an enormous amount of hubris. They have had it out for the ethnic Russians in the regions contested in this conflict. Which is why Russia listed "denazification" as one of its goals. The Azovs consider Russians to be Communists and want them destroyed. So that colors in some of the detail of this conflict that is sorely and I would say intentionally lacking.

Which makes it the ultimate irony that the twitter crowd will make up pretend Nazis and tear things up to get their way but will support real neo Nazis to get their shots in at Putin and by extension Trump. It's amazing to watch.

I think that the specific push by Putin to "denazify" is less about that explixit goal and more to act as a point of confusion for Western critics that will, in time look bad for having backed anything associated with Azov. It is an attempt to use the very mindset that you mocked against those in the West that extol such virtue. He knows the West has little appreciation for the nuance of this situation thanks to the US and the UK diplomatic corps and their respective media.

I can understand their confusion somewhat because Ukraine has a Jewish President.

I’m not worried because I’m not personally involved.
But all the trained foreign militaries you talk about would go there as paid mercenaries, not for free and for the dubious glory of getting killed by Russians.
People with expertise usually want to get paid.
