My favorite breed of Zoomer is the one that would've joined a nunnery if they had been born a few generations earlier but wasn't so they have to settle with astrology or """witchcraft""" instead.

I actually hope that Putin is secretly into astrology and all this new age hocus pocus. I love the mental image of him going into his secret chamber after the war room meeting to consult his horoscope, turn over some tarot cards, and carefully consider which crystal to carry with him into the next conference.

Peron did something like that. His second wife was his astrologist.

Good translation of that interview with the Russian colonel from yesterday I think.

I don't know how many Kiwis follow Formula 1, but I know several Formula 1 fans that are probably happy right now with the sanctions. Sochi has long been considered one of the worst Formula 1tracks ever, and I'm kinda doubting the FIA is going to sanction another race there anytime soon. Indeed, they've "suspended" the 2022 Russian Gran Prix, but I'm guessing that's gonna turn into a full on cancellation at some point.

One has to wonder where you are getting the data for these conclusions that the F-35 is so inferior to the J-20 and Su-57. Since all there is is conjecture and assertions. There are less than 200 J-20s and Su-57s combined in service anyway (only about a dozen of them Su-57s) compared to almost 200 F-22s, and 500 F-35s.

But maybe the super duper surface-to-air missile systems of Russia will make up the difference. Except the IAF F-35s have been flying rings around them when they bomb Syria. And China doesn't have an AA system as good as the S- series.

The numbers don't lie and they spell disastuh for non-Western 5th generation fighters at Sacrifice.
They all fat and ugly and kind of look like made up of cardboard, therefore my conclusion is that they are all shit.

On the other hand, this plane is beautiful and 3D printing technology could be used to make more of them.

But the whole point of the F-35 is to compete with stealth aircraft from China and Russia. If you literally cannot take punches from the people you're supposed to be fighting, by definition it isn't doing its job. Oh sure it can club baby seals, but so can an F-16.
Wrong! The point of the F-35 is to make defense contractors rich enough to escape should their malfeasance blow back on them.

No, you're still being lied to. You're just being lied to by /pol/ tier shitposting as well as Rachel Maddow flapping her useless fucking suck-hole. The Ukrainians are guilty of nothing more than wanting to not be tied to the boat anchor that is Russia's economic bloc and to trade peaceably with the larger international community. Their application to NATO was rejected around the 2008-2009 time frame and it was their intention to join the EU, rather. That puts them into a larger community that doesn't allow the Russians to bully them into submission.

The idea that NATO was going to invade them is laughable on it's face. Only the US and Poland even meet their obligations and during the air war over Libya, we had to resupply them because their arms stockpiles are so low. The idea that the Ukraine, a poorer country than Russia was going to invade them is laughable on it's face. As for former Warsaw pact countries joining the EU or NATO? The former Baltic states and Poland, Hungary and Czechoslovakia all ran towards NATO in the nineties before Vladimir Putin was in office, even the first time around though the Baltics didn't make it in until 2004.

And you know who didn't have a problem with it? The pre-2008 Vladimir Putin who was our collaborator in the GWoT. Now he wants his toys back and when one of those toys doesn't want to go back into the box, he's trying to break it.
I don't think I'm being lied to. Granted you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet but the references I read seemed legit and un bias enough from both sides of the coin. I don't agree that either sides of the party are in the right or wrong regarding previous political bullshit. Russia shouldn't be murdering people unjustly and Ukraine shouldn't be throwing their civ's under the bus for social media clout.
The only thing I know for sure is people on both sides are getting hurt because the higher ups are being twats.

I'm more than willing to believe you as well as what has been previously posted, but do you have some reference/source that I can read regarding the instances you've mentioned?
I'm a dumb ass and I want to learn instead of being ignorant

What I meant to say is, the air force hasn't really been stress-tested in a long time. There's the risk of complacency, of "being well-prepared to fight the previous war".
How well things are going to hold up in a near-peer conflict remains to be seen.

Remember when the Zumwalt-class was all the hype?

There's very clear intelligence/military applications of satellite based internet that cant be shot down, those receivers can easily be shielded from jamming and keep whole blocks connected in an urban area with tall enough buildings.
The military already has satellite data options. There is already Ku stuff with actual rugged terminals that can be air dropped in or broken down and carried in. That can run off battery. There are hand held satphones since forever.

Starlink is cool consoomer tech but I don't really see the usefulness when it seems the LTE network there is still up and running somewhat. Every other video has people fucking around with their smartphones and people still posting tiktoks.

It is just Musk doing his PR thing and those starlink terminals are likely already scattered around neighboring countries via the black market.
