  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.

Russian saboteurs are apparently like genestealers

No shit, the KGB did this with America during the Soviet Union and Russia has probably been ramping up plans for this since Biden was elected

Hopefully Russia finds and blows up wherever they keep the definite article in front of THE Ukraine. We don't do that for other countries. It's not THE Poland or THE Greece. Along with the obnoxious spelling changes like Kyiv. If it's not written in cyrillic then the spelling is made up anyway.

Ukrainians will be able to fly missions from Polish airbases though, won't they? It would be more than optimistic to think whatever's left of their airforce + donated craft could break a massive siege, but I suppose it's still better than nothing. They'll probably be blown out of the sky as soon as Russian missile systems are fully in place, though.

Letting a foreign nation use your airbase to launch military action when the enemy of that nation is capable of seeing these actions and responding with lethal force seems like a bad idea considering the potential side effects of misidentification and shoot downs over non Ukrainian land

Not seeing much of that kind of rhetoric now. Instead we're pouring Russian vodka down the drain, for no reason at all.
Lithuanian and British vodka with Russian names (very few brands of vodka are actually Russian), It's even worse somehow since it's fucking over unrelated people in countries that have nothing to do with it.

If true this doesn't fit Gehenna's (ormy) expectation they would be heading towards the far west and Lvov

No, no it does not.

I mean, this could literally be throwing them in the grinder, in which case... wow that is a dumb fuck move. My idea was assuming they were going for the smart play.

Though it could also just be a smaller detachment and the rest gets sent west later. Still, this does not comport to my theory so far.

To be fair, that one makes sense. Just as it was The U.S.S.R. Both the Americans and Soviets are union countries, basically made up of a bunch of countries. So its more a case of "The Group" rather than "The Individual".
Westerners don't know shit about Slavic words. For all they know Ukraine could be plural like "deer."

But yeah "the Ukraine" annoys me too, after like a week of the world talking about this 24/7 you'd think people would have at least caught on that it's just Ukraine.

The worst part of what appears to be Russia's strategy is that there is no way to counter it since Ukraine is alone. They don't have the forces to break a siege from the outside.

The Russians need to just shell and bomb anything inside that looks significant, and even if some units break out of the city the mobile elements of the Russian forces will be on standby to zoom in and annihilate them. This right here is the end. If this is in fact the plan then Ukraine is officially lost.
Reminds me a bit of the Spartan strat in the Archidamian War.
