I tried looking it up. I couldn't find anything for what happens if the petitioner breaks the restraining (or "peace") order in Canada, but from what I found for the U.S., one of two things could happen:
1. Nader can go to court and get the restraining order nullified.
2. Nader can't get the order nullified, and he needs to do everything in his power to uphold the restraining order (locking the doors if she comes to his house, not answering the phone/hanging up immediately if she calls, etc.) or he'll face legal repercussions for breaking the order.
Either way, Chantal has utterly ruined this case for herself the women that Nader actually hurt. Victims go back because their abusers begin to feign love and compassion, and they think things will be different this time around. Nader never did that. He never tried to trick her with kind words. She's going back because she chose to, not because she was manipulated into it.
Just pointing out, it's not a restraining order. It's a peace bond. A peace bond happens when the cops think the bad guy is more likely than not to commit a crime,
however, there isn't evidence that he's already done it. So they can't arrest him for "absusing" Chantal, but they think there's a significant chance the situation will escalate and he will, so they've told him to shut the fuck up and back the fuck off.
Nader's situation is more like an exasperated parent saying, "Stop bugging your sibling, I swear to god. If I hear one more peep out of you, you're in trouble," than an actual restraining order.
Still, the fact that Chantal is going out of her way to contact/harass him doesn't do her any favors. At the very least, she's setting herself up for a peace bond of her own, and perhaps even actual charges. She's manipulated the system and created a situation where he's not allowed to retaliate, but she's allowed to talk shit about him whenever and as much as she wants, where he isn't allowed to be mean to her but she can stop by whenever she chooses, where he can't text her for any reason, but she can blow up his phone demanding a conversation. Or so she thinks. The cops and courts will have a very very different interpretation of the situation, I'm sure.
I'm starting to get really confused about the phone. I could have sworn he sat there in one of his upstairs streams and bitched about having to spend $50 on a new sim card. Was that for the phone she had turned off? If so, then would it even matter if she turned it back on? Would he have to change the sim card out to use the line she's paying for? Or is there another phone entirely?
I'm also confused.
I thought that she was having his phone forwarded to hers, so he gave out the phone number and she started getting "scary" texts all night from randos. I thought he then got his own sim card and was using the actual phone under his own, new number.
Unless she was paying for the new number, too. That would make sense if she cancelled the old doxed number after he gave it out. It would also be in character for her to come over all apologetic, agree to get him a brand new number so she could bother him and so he could contact his family, and then agree to pay for it all. (Though would he even need an active phone number to use FB Messenger to talk to his family? Is she paying long distance fees to Egypt so he can brag to his mother about how he has a fat sharmuta paying both his and his mom's rent or whatever?)
I think where we're going wrong here is thinking there's only one number that's been activated/inactivated over and over. She mentioned that the phone company was starting to get suspicious of her activating and deactivating the phone, and furthermore, I'm sure she said something recently about how the phone was getting cancelled this time, not just deactivated. She's playing a lot of games with the phone company and I sincerely hope they lock down her account for suspected fraud.
ETA:
For those who have a better grip on the timeline, did she haul ass to the border and cross into New York shortly after her attempt to see Nader and get rid of DeeDee? Like she showed up all dolled-up, sans panties but with pot and coffee, got rebuffed, and manically rushed to New York McDonalds rather than deal with the situation at hand?
What happened to the pot? Did she leave it at Nader's? Did she throw it out? Did she smoke it? Did she take it across the border?
Inquiring minds.
