How dumb do you have to be to think the Russians would paratroop soldiers into a city and that's all they would do. Like seriously guys... why are people so retarded when talking about this? Either looking at it strictly from a perceived US doctrine perspective which we know Russia doesn't have because a) it's Russia, and b) they aren't bombing the shit out of everything or pretending like the man who hasn't lost a war as president yet, Putin, despite fighting many, is a strategic idiot that would do something so retarded.

Guys... you know who has captured more cities than anyone else since WW2? Russia. And I don't mean they captured rubble like the USA would. They captured actual cities. Idk maybe they know wtf they are doing.

Idk what I was expecting from this thread, definitely shitposting and slap fights, but I was hoping the few posts of analysis would at least be somewhat informed or concurrent with reality and the past. Telling me a patient, strategic mind like Putin's, whether you like him or not, just decided to invade Ukraine on a whim and didn't have a plan on top of plans to execute his goals is just dumb. Meanwhile Russia is advancing at literal record speeds in terms of territory gains(faster than the US in Kuwait + Iraq, faster than the Germans, faster than Isreal in Jordan) and people are going "hurr dur they are stalling, they are slowing down they are bogged down, it's going badly". It's uhmazin. Idk what I was expecting, but it was better than this. Jokes on me I guess.

I like to think not. During WWII, after a while even my namesake trusted his generals and STAVKA to develop plans, although he approved them. Could be a case of "groupthink", too.

The other thing is, it's legitimating the view that the West is just trying to indiscriminately hurt Russians. Live in Russia but don't like what Putin's doing? Tough titties, the West's decided that you're complicit because of your inferior blood proximity to Putin inability to make us feel better about ourselves, so now you're gonna pay for it too. At which point, what other choice do they have but to hope Putin succeeds so that they get some relief by defeating the West?

This is probably late, but I do think it's funny how people were arguing that giving out military hardware to randos was a good idea earlier up in the thread. So now, not only is Kyiv under siege, it's loaded with rape gangs.
