Also as people mentioned in the Kazakhstan happening thread a while ago, governments with varied ethnic forces will always send those units to police or put down civil disturbances comprised of different ethnicity; it's a lot easier for them to prosecute their duties over people who don't look like them.

People like to attribute this phenomenon of all the institutions circling the wagons to a level of centralised power & micromanagement not seen outside of totalitarian states, but I'm starting to think it's just because the managers of all these organisations are jacked into the social media hive mind. Whether it's BLM or the Wu Flu or this, the message is inescapable and becomes the instant obsession of every organisation under the sun, you can't even have an annual carnival without the organisers cancelling it for a protest at the last minute. At least they're doing it over some consequential shit this time.

I finally got into watching all of Girls und Panzer as this has been going down. I gotta say...the cheery music and anime waifus interspersed with tank battles + facts helps my sanity while reading threads like this disaster of a war far more than any official or unofficial reporting on it.
