It still blows my mind that it's caused by having an extra copy of the gene that causes the most common form of dwarfism or w/e. Like one extra copy takes you from short and stubby but otherwise pretty normal (and capable of living a full life) to dead, or at least usually dead and severely disabled.
I remember in a different thread it was brought up the same thing happens in other animals like rabbits, breeding two dwarf buns risks a portion of the offspring being peanut rabbits, which have two extra copies of the dwarfism gene and always die within a week or two.

Yeah, it's the same with munchkin cats, kittens with two copies of the dwarf gene will be born stillborn.

A few of the most recent tik toks from the mom of Derek, the HPE kid. He's rolling over, which normally wouldn't be that big of a deal for a kid several months past a year old, but for a near-tater, it's damn near awesome. Mom was happy with that achievement, but then she became annoyed as he kept sticking his hand in his mouth, even though it was the only thing preventing him from face-planting into the blanket. She tugged and pushed at his arm and poor Derek repeatedly wound up with a mouthful of fleece.

I've been watching this kid too, I refuse to believe that something that looks as fucked up as this and has such a bad diagnosis is actually doing a purposeful movement. Is this actually him meaning to roll over? Developmentally he would be doing that consciously, but there's no way he can be smart enough to want to roll over? TikTok is honestly a goldmine of tard babies and cow moms! There is one that just died with cdls at 5 months old, one of the most horrific things I've ever seen. But most cdls people are hideous to me, spent most of his 5 months in the nicu undergoing so many procedures to even keep him alive, but he finally kicked the bucket after open heart surgery. The mother is so entitled and was mad at the doctors for not saving her child, like you birthed a severely fucked up kid, knowingly and now you want people to go above and beyond to keep it alive? Then of course the one I posted which I wish more people took interest in because ugh that lady is a piece of work! She will leave up comments about her kid being an abomination but any comment made about her grifting is deleted in SECONDS! She doesn't reply to people in the comments unless it's for sometbing about a gift or donation! Haleeandzeke is that handle.
And I've seen teammali mentioned on here but with how batshit crazy and how much this woman BEGS shamelessly for donations and money and help etx, and goes live with this kid who is brain dead claiming he's smiling or mad or whatever she could honestly land them their own thread!. God there's goldmines here! I wish more people were interested because I would love to hear some opinions

Her deformed baby needs a new robe but she ain't gonna splurge on it, so she captions her video "he needs a new robe" or something and lo and behold her comments "add one to his wishlist" almost every other comment ugh! This bitch grates me! And her kid is so ugly that it's irritating. And it's irritating how many people tell her he's cute when he's not. Idk how to share links or videos the right way!

I feel more like the posting of the picture itself was undignified, not Harlow’s death.
It looks like Harlow died with dignity in the arms of her loving mother surrounded by people who have loved and cared for her in her brief life.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. Sharing the photo on Instagram destroyed any semblance of dignity Harlow might have been afforded in death. I actually think hiring a professional photographer in the first place was questionable, but I can't begrudge parents for wanting final photos of their child, I guess.
Upon rereading, the tone of the mother's response is pretty immature and gross. Does she really not have anything better to do than write blathering, snippy responses at trolls on the internet? Her kid just fucking died.

Agreed, this isn't the Victorian era where photography was expensive and not many people could afford to have pictures taken of their children while they were living (especially if they were babies). Probably everyone in that room had a phone on them, and while everyone will feel differently about wanting the moment of a loved one's death caught on camera, posting it online feels wrong. And while everyone grieves differently, that doesn't stop the photo from feeling very insincere. Especially given the way the mom lashed out at people.

Speaking of dead tato photo ops, one of the tik tok accounts i mentioned, odiesmomma, the cdls baby, there has been a bunch of photos posted of him dead, with a professional photographer there to capture it all of course. He was only being kept alive by being intubated so once they disconnected everything he died. Bonus, his foot was necrotizing and it looked ghastly. And this is the mother that has the nerve to get mad at doctors for the fact that anything they did, didn't work. She also was bitching about the medical supply people not picking up her dead sons no longer needed medical equipment because she just doesn't want to look at it.....
She had some sort of fucked up pregnancy and birth of stillborn/miscarriage before her Uber fucked up cdls monstrosity. I hope she takes two dead sick children as a wake up call to never reproduce again. Why make another child suffer. The kid spent his life dying in the hospital but he is apparently a miracle.
