I plead guilty. To think that some people believe him when he says that his troops killed 10,000 Russians. After all, to say that 20,000 Russians were killed in one week is perhaps not implausible. Here in Australia we have a election coming up and the Liberals who are currently in power have been spent the last two years heavily leaning into national security as one of their key issues, they've tried to take a very tough public stance on china (even if their policies don't always align with that) and have been pushing a narrative that only they are able to keep australia safe amid china's shenanigans.

Well now with Ukraine they've kicked things up a notch and aside from some pretty bad floods up in queensland it's been pretty much the only thing that the liberals have been talking about for the last week and it's very tiresome to hear these guys use this situation as a political tool. I don't know if it'll help them win the election because while I am seeing alot of people over here get worked up by it I'm not sure how it will ultimately resonate in terms of impacting the election, but the libs are sure hoping it will help them because they are going balls deep on it as an issue.
