If anyone even gets to the boarder and does join up, they will realize that they don’t have (in no particular order):
1. Hot showers or showers at all
2. Decent food
3. People to talk to, lots of Ukrainian, not too much English
4. Internet!
5. Anything to do for the most part (hurry up and wait) and then maybe 15 minutes of confusing loud combat.
6. Having to follow orders when nothing makes sense, like walking miles and miles when you don’t feel well or are bone tired. Or are cold. Or very hot.
7. Comfortable place to sleep

None of these people are ready to be seriously uncomfortable with about every aspect of their lives. I would say that the rating “uncomfortable” would be the absolute best they could hope for. Down right fucking miserable is probably the correct rating. And let’s not forget that when you come home (if you make it back alive) you very well might be prosecuted for war crimes…

As far as I can tell, the core of the movement when it began was Iron Guard type Slavic Fascists whose chosen symbol for the battalion was a Wolfsangel, a very popular brigade symbol in the Wehrmacht.

They were a right wing football fan club. That is where the unit came from. Russia has the same nutters. Hell France and the UK has nutters like this if you look close enough.
