General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

You guys (not you specifically reinigen, just talking in general) need to relax about Nina, some people here act like she's a ticking-time bomb that will suddenly explode into a rant about straight white men. If she was she wouldn't be up for things like being both on the giving and the receiving end of sexually-charged jokes with Nijimales

And frankly, malding about the possibility of an entertainer saying some political wrongthink strikes me as really SJW-ish behaviour. I've seen some of them talk about how they avoid becoming too attached to certain creators because they're always waiting for the other ideological shoe to drop, so it hurts less if they have to disavow them. Don't be like them.
I do think that people on both sides of these often very dumb political debates spend far too much time worrying about infiltrators or whatnot to their hobbies. IE people here are prime to expect that someone will get into Niji/Holo/ETC and spread "SJW ideology" or whatever, and thus spend a lot of time talking about it even though it hasn't even happened.

Did I completely miss the discussion about Nene tracing artwork for official merch? Tracing an artist that has collaborated with Holo before, even?
It was discussed from 4280 on, since she seemed to have talked to the artist and apoligized offically, it seems resolved.
But there is a chance that she gets a suspention, if other artists holo works with are unhappy. I saw on vt that rushias mama tweeted and deleted about it.

Had to look up 非親告罪.

I'm pretty sure they're suggesting that taking money for stolen work is a crime that doesn't necessarily require the victim to make a formal complaint.

I'd appreciate someone giving a second opinion.

Precisely. 非 is negation, 親告罪 is "an offense requiring a formal complaint in order to prosecute". The reason Google translated it as Antragsdelikt is because the legal concept originated in German law.

Because Cover and Nene actually made money (and likely not a small amount, too) from the traced art, they've landed in pretty hot water now. Similar to this guy a couple years back who tried to sell his "original comic" that was blatantly traced from Bleach.

Ayo bois, Pippa's birthday stream is in 2 hours from this post (6:00 PM ET). She's been saying that her recent bump in viewer numbers has been making her feel nervous, and we're a cyberbullying web site, so let's bully her by getting her at least 500 viewers today, and an absolute torrent of donos. Let's make this a day that stupid rabbit is never going to forget.

Cover will settle with the artist or provide a percentage profit to them. It's not going to get farther than that.
If what Rushia's illustrator is saying is correct, then Nene and Lauren are literally in the exact same predicament.

Both can probably very easily square things away with the 'victims' but the public will still be watching how the companies approach their employees breaking the law because the Japanese love posturing. They're both forms of theft, at the end of the day.

ina already off to a great start
That's rough considering they're pretty hard locked to how long they're 'allowed' to play the game due to the permissions. Goorah wanted to play way more after she got into it, but was hard locked to 3 hours.

Edit: Reaper in chat to provide moral support it appears.

I just copied the "translation" screenshot from vt, thats actually pretty intresting. It just dies down for both Nene and Lauren.
Japanese people are really sensitive when it comes to this stuff, i remeber people crying about suisei/toko´s song and that was just vaguly attached to an IP if you wanted to see it in the worst light possible.

Could I get a QRD on this Top Ham guy? His saltiness interests me but i don't feel like scrounging through twitter for his ramblings (If he has any)
It's largely being overstated (his saltiness)

He had a song about ones creation becoming bigger than their creator, pretty sure there are pinned comments in the video itself explaining that it's no serious resentment or salt and more just commenting on how weird an experience that is for a creator.

But people do love projecting drama and making mountains out of molehills.

Is Nina doomposting the new Kiara doomposting?

Only in the sense that there are more people talking about the doomposting than actually doomposting.

Me: Oh boy, it’s been a few days since I last peeped the thread. Wonder what’s going o-
-Artia resurfacing
-WACTOR shit
-Nene did a retard
-Kiara timeloops
-Nina timeloops
-Reminded once again that the gay culture war zeitgeist looms over everything in my life

I just want to watch cute girls doing cute things, damn it.
