Nobody ever says this meaning “if my baby comes out disabled I’m going to leave them in a garbage can”. Who wouldn’t want their child’s life to be as easy, happy and long as possible? Even if we ever got to a point where all barriers were removed for people with disabilities and we could cure all illnesses, it would still suck more to be born with whatever issue and have to go through those treatments than being born healthy and not having to deal with that.

I love this because it's another example of how woke people just end up being bigoted.

It's pretty silly to assume someone "colonized" American soil because they're white. And that's clearly what they mean. They don't know or care about any colonization that went on in Europe prior to North America.

They're so closed minded and racist that they can't even fathom the idea that there's lots of white people who arrived to the America's long after colonization, and even after slavery.

They're too historically ignorant to take notice of the persecution against white people who were fleeing hardships in their own countries fairly recently, and had nothing to do with even slavery let alone colonization (Russians and Irish in particular come to mind.)

Interesting fact about lactose tolerance is that it's quite a recent genetic mutation, originating only about 10,000 years ago in Europe. It's a very common trait in Northern-Europeans, and also somewhat common in some other parts in the world such as Ethiopia (which probably evolved independently). I'd argue that lactose intolerance is not really a "genetic condition" that "affects" people as the article claims, it's an advantage a relatively small number of people have.

Anyhow, I think the content of this article is somewhat less ludicrous as the title may lead you to believe, although I strongly dislike calling it "racist", there probably is a worthwhile discussion to be had here about the fairness of increasing the cost of living for people who lack lactose tolerance, especially given the massive subsidies diary farmers get from the gov't in both Europe and the US.

I really wish they hadn't put "racist" in the title though; it poisons the discussion.
