Some interesting news on the oil front: despite the US making it clear that their sanctions try to sidestep effecting oil prices, due to the extreme levels of Russophobia Russia cannot find buyers for their oil, despite having offers well below global prices. To give you an idea how bad it is some people are considering lifting sanctions on Iran to stabilize oil prices.

Furthermore most major tanker and logistics companies have decided to cancel all shipments to and from Russia for fear of getting hit with sanctions mid shipment.

We may have just canceled ourselves into a global economic depression.

Just goes to show nuclear power isn't safe. It can't stand up to giant tsunamis, disabled safety systems or assaults by cold war era weapons. Better ramp up solar and wind for the pods.

I always love discussing solar and wind power because for some mysterious reason, the arguments always ends when someone asks "but who will pay for it?".

How far will you Russian apologists go in your attempt to make Russia blameless? Why would the Ukrainians destroy their only means to keep power running in Kiev?
In Mother Russia, the blame is on you.

Ukraine must be blamed for not making Mother Russia Great Again. Ukraine is destroying itself to get rid of the blame but at the end of the day, they are Russian citizens in denial.

>Puts the Geiger counter right up above the nuclear reactor
>HMMM YESSS RADIATION IS OFF THE CHAIN HERE EVERYONE GON DIE
>NUCLEAR BAD NUCLEAR BAD WIND TURBINES ALL THE WAY

And now nuclear progress has been delayed by another 3 decades, goddammit
No, faggots that are anti nuclear will always be anti nuclear. Germany will be a pozzed shithole dependent on gas while their windmills freeze over every single winter. China, India, Russia, and France will continue to advance nuclear power.

I don't know if it will affect U.S. prices much as Russian imports only represent ~3% of US crude oil imports and ~1% of the total crude oil processed by US refineries. However, the knock-on effects of this whole ordeal on the global economy may still lead to higher prices (Fertilizer and semiconductor chip prices - Ukraine is home to half of the world's neon gas, which is critical for chip manufacturing - are still the larger concern for the U.S. in my eyes). For Europe though, it's going to be rough.
Update: some other sources I've read say it's actually ~5-10% of imported crude oil and refined products. Psaki stated it was around ~10% and she's incentivized to downplay the amount which makes me think this larger figure is more accurate. Thus, oil prices may go up a fair amount in the U.S.

It's been about 100 years since the great depression, seems like an appropriate time for a new one.

maybe im psychic or the merge gave me some radiation through a portal i felt sick outta nowhere 2 hours ago and puked an hour ago

feel better now but still the weird shit your mind comes up with
We all react to stress differently or maybe you ate something not quite right. I get GERD when angry. Some mild back pain and a touch of nausea when anxious. Others get headaches, chest pains, flu like symptoms or drink too much, etc.

I love that people think that nuclear power plants can explode like they do in Hollywood. I wonder if they think you can make vehicles explode by shooting their fuel tanks
I grew up playing War of the Monsters, so I know that if you stand on it and whack it hard enough, it'll supercharge your energy so you can just spam your long-range special and piss your older brother off.

Levels are reported to be so high that measuring devices are maxxing out...unknown what true reading is

.......nervously pressing x. On the one hand, it's basically the State Department and are they really just gonna have a geiger counter?

Fuck everything this is the worst part of the war so far

read the rise and fall of the third reich and come back and tell me the world would have been better under nazi rule
Wehraboos have only read Allied propaganda that was used in the early war to explain away their defeat as being the result of a "blitzkrieg" by overwelmingly superior tanks, halftracks, and planes. And while yes German tanks and such are very cool, the fact is none it was true. Germany was reliant on horses throughout the entire war and barely had enough fuel even in the mid-war to fly or to fight. And then when it came to after the war, the Nazis were retarded Mao-tier agrarians. "Gotta get those city kids out working in the field and forever fighting Russian barbarians in the Urals! That's what true Germany is all about: larping as the fucking Teutonic Order!"

If Germany won, there would have been the settling of Poland and Ukraine by German youths who had no idea how to farm, they would have been punished by the administrators assigned to govern them because CLEARLY crop failure means you just aren't patriotic enough, and by the end the whole plan would have been considered a failure and the German colonists would have shuffled back off to the German industrial heartland to leave the locals to pick up the pieces. This is EXACTLY what happened in Mao's China. There would have been no "Germans colonize the Moon in the 60's" bullshit. We'd have seen Europe progress on much the same trajectory it did in real life, while the Cold War with the US intensified to the point of likely nuclear war.

As for Japan, who cares. They'd have eventually been eaten alive by Chinese partisans and got their teeth kicked in by the US navy no matter what.
