I'll break down their paragraph for you:

Simple enough to understand.

They're saying that the ordinary person is rarely told the truth about the situation. However, they still try to understand what is going on even from what little they have been told.

This is the only part which is not cohesive with the rest of the paragraph, though the meaning is still relatively clear (that there is much more than meets the eye to the situation than what the media says). However, the use of 'because' is unwarranted because this does not "explain" anything in the previous clause (doesn't explain why the "little people rarely get the truth and facts" or why they are "left trying to make sense of it all").

Plus, a tank is usually supported by infantry and it has its own machine gun. This Molotov B.S. is just suicide. At least, the sharpshooter and the imagers idea wear possible if impractical.

The one way I see it having any use is that the Russians still let infantry ride on top of armored vehicles. If someone drops one on top of one of those, it could definitely cause problems.
