General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

hopefully they stop at 6 like with NijiID and NijiKR
EN is way more successful than ID or KR so that seems unlikely. JP seems like a better comparison. Nijisanji JP's second year, 2019, was crazy with debuts. Like almost every month. They didn't slow down until their third year.

Ahem, allow me to start the [Quantity over Quality] time loop. :story:
The latest two waves have if anything boosted the earlier ones, tbh. Like Petra gets better live views now than she did before the guys, likely because a lot of their female fans became fans of her. Pomu's Metal Gear streams blew past all of her previous gaming streams. And the male waves themselves are doing very well. Vox was the top superchatted vtuber period in February. If you said that NijiEN would get a vtuber to the top the superchat chart for an entire month back when they debuted people here would have thought that you were crazy.

Obviously I can't speak for the livers themselves - multiple members have said that they are happy to see the EN family grow, whether you believe them or not is up to you - but the fear that new waves would dilute the audience, which was prevalent back when Pomu went on that bit, didn't pan out.

Late reply to the WACTOR stuff.
Bit and pieces that connect stuff together. The part about how WACTOR is only company in name and actually run by a single person (Maid-chan, who make that tweet and also mod the official subreddit, and also the CEO), put a new light on this story. It isn't an entire board decide to do a financial suicide, it's just one dumbass with a bit of money who power drunk and have a sperg moment.
Apparently from what I gleamed from the threads about WACTOR on /vt/ is that because its literally ran by 1 man there's hella favoritism between who that guy likes and dislikes. Laila is obviously someone he dislikes so he held her hostage by choosing to suspend her indefinitely. I assume she can't just graduate while in suspension because that would be a black mark on her resume if she goes elsewhere. So it seems like she was just going to wait out her contract's expiry in May (her debut was on the 1st) to graduate and head somewhere/anywhere infinitely better. The CEO decided to respond to that course of action by going completely nuclear and dropping her dox because I guess nobody wants to hire a vtuber that has been doxxed by her own company, I guess? At least she has a legal backing to sink WACTOR now.

I'm not Scuttle, but I'll never miss out on an opportunity to shill the best girl, Sukoya Kana. I legitimately feel like she's a jack of all trades, in that she has some of everything that anyone would look for in a Vtuber. She even knows some English, not as much as Oliver, but still ahead of most corpo Vtubers.

Are you a degenerate coomer and/or want something cute and/or mark out for yuri for some reason? Crossick has you covered.
Looking for an edgelord who's into playing out scenes? She did a whole seminar on acting at Niji's last anniversary event.
Someone smart? She's in med school (hiatus that she should be coming back from this month), she consistently does well in the quiz shows Niji does in collabs with QuizKnock, and she got one of the highest scores on Choco's quiz (top 5 on the last ranking I could find).
Singer? She's not on the top-tier level that someone like Melissa or Machima are, sure, but she leads Nijisanji's unit in the Bandai Namco EDM idol project for a reason.

For some other quick mentions, if you miss the boxing dog's English-only Mario streams, give Chigusa's a look.

If you want a total psycho (in Minecraft), consider Kanae.

If you want a based shitposter with a wife and kid, check out Gwelu.

There's a fuckton of people in Niji you could check out, so I'd definitely recommend looking up those compilation channels (preferably ones that do their own translation), checking clips of those you find interesting within the compilation, and then giving them a go if you like them.

On another note, something that seemingly didn't get picked up was that another Niji/Vshojo collab happened, and this one included Sykkuno and that one fat guy that could get 12-year-old girls to cut themselves for him by breathing.
Subbed - she seems fun. Seems Nijisanji clippers have given up or moved on tho. Not to say that Holoclippers haven't as well or moved to easier material like clipping EN members.

I wonder how many waves we'll get.
ID has 6, wonder if EN will stop there or if we'll end up with like 70 NijiEN members.
Re-purposeing creators into vtubers is endless. Want to be a vtuber? Develop a following completely different from it and then apply to companies, also do it like 5 years ago.

20 members in a year already burned through my reserves of how much I could get stoked over new NijiEN members.

God speed to them and wish them success but I haven't been able to muster interest in new NijiENs in a while now.
TBF they aren't trying to attract people already in this thread anymore.

I'm not worry about diluted audience at all, but what about the support from agency? Do AC have enough man power to support the work that come with growing talents pool? What about the big things like 3D model? Are they going to give it in order of people who reach the milestone first, or the one with the fastest growing audience/donation, especially when their debut dates are different by mere months? I'm not saying I'm thinking Niji will play favoritism or over-expanding, but I'm sure the existing talents, EN and JP (and the recently defuncted ID and KR), are thinking about it at the back of their head.

There goes Pippa's chance of making it in.

A C C E L E R A T E

Has nothing to do with nijiEN boys no? Popular game/meme games will attract tourists period.
Yeah, my point more with that is that the boys didn't eat into her audience and that she can have really special standout moments even in a bigger branch.

Welp, time to shoot my shot.

And this time, I mean it. ✔
Good luck!

They've been adding managers as the branch has grown (it was one to begin with, but by the time Ethyria rolled around Nina was talking about multiple managers) and they put out job advertisements for more EN content managers recently.
As for 3d... I have no idea how they're gonna do that lol.

What was it again? "Quantity over Quality"?
Naturally. Just ask Stalin.

Do "Tomboy girls" doesn't exist anymore, or did they just straight up called a "troon" or "non-binary" from now on?
They do, but aren't very common, which is a shame. Finding a girl you can shoot the shit with and have a nice couple time is worth gold!

Precisely. If they play their hands wrong, they end up with overworked and underpaid staff or complete lack of support for the talents, both of which are bad in case they get some crazy menhera bitch on their ranks, there might too big a problem for them to handle if they are above capacity!

Hololive Momosuzu Nene issued an apology for tracing artwork.
People are joking about Nene but this will be forgotten soon enough, she owned to her mistake and apologized to the artists both publicly and in private, nothing bad came out of it. All is well despite Yagoo's possible ulcers from early 2022 shenanigans lol!

IDK why they don't just permanently open auditions like Holo, tbh i don't know how more waves will really pan out, call it a rrat but my opinion is that the audience that the Nijimen captured was not western at all, and i don't know how sustainable it is to depend on them to hold up the hearty helping of livers that is gonna end up on the table. It will probably be fine though.

Japanese companies so fucking archaic when it comes to streaming it's totally painful. One of the reasons why an American based company like vShoujo has a leg up over Niji or Cover is good ol' American fair use laws.

If what was written on their website is correct, they need to request a certain amount of time, when they'll start/stop, and no superchats during that time either. And considering how rigidly Gura stuck to that 3 hour mark, and even had a slight panic when a random event happened right at the 3 hour mark causing her to go over by two minutes, I wouldn't be surprised if the leaks about how hard nosed they're being about this game is true.

For Elden Ring the streamer has to choose an hour amount before they start and stick with it. Gura choose 3 hours, so she had to quit once she hit 3 hours. Ina obviously went with more than 3 hours.
Just wanted to add that Noel did 4 stream of Elden Ring so far, the second one was over 7 hours long.

apparently, ID girls seem to do their 3D aboard or in another city/island that is not in Jakarta. since Moona just said she need a flight when someone sending super chat assumed their 3D going to be in Japan, but Moona already stated that they are not going to be in Japan.
Guess they rented out a proper studio to hve the girls record their performance in.

Pippa needs to stop cutting onions :feels:
I sometimes like to shit on Pippa but im extremely proud of her. Would be nice if she hits the 100k mark by 2023. I think she can do it.

I didn't know this but looking at how some things went down I expected less than 3 people to be running that whole thing. Reminds me of Vshojo.
