soviet union and its satellite states boycotted the olympics, the olympics was highly politicized in the cold war by both sides, russia had some controversial basketball win in the 70s thats contested because of clock shenanigans and we politicized the miracle on ice hockey stuff.

Honestly been keeping up with
various Ukrainian Nazi telegram And Intel slavia (Russian Intel server), as well as visegrads reporting on this. So far I would say this don't trust cable News from the west but do trust telegram sources on the ground.

If you see tanks with letters like Z/U/ or V it's Russian/Russian backed forces. Soft far looking at casualties it's been a bad day for Russians and probably a just as bad day for Ukrainians.
