According to the NYT the Ghost of Kiev is a key part of Ukraine's war plan. It 'tries' to keep morale high.
Source: experts

Imagine your average Ukraine inhabitants who first got their city surrounded, no electricity, no food or water, pounded by artillery shells/GRAD missiles and then occupied by Russian soldiers while on social media ingame footage is displayed saying you're winning and that the Russians fled into the sea.

US soldiers drink a lot, but the US is one of the few countries that has an absolute ban on drinking in the field or in uniform outside of very specific contexts. This was forever ago but we did joint training once in Poland and after the training rotation was over the Polish had bought some locally made beer for everyone to try. The British and Canadian soldiers not having complete speds for leaders joined in, but the US sent all soldiers back to the training barracks and that ended up looking like a snub to the Polish.
I hated this shit so much. Bit off topic and a pl, but I did one of those joint missions once. We where the small group that was sent there first before the rest of the battalion. First thing we did was go to the local booze store and bought some liquor. Was a good night, and the Polish vodka I had was pretty good.

This is happening a lot right now:

Globocorp Press Release: We condemn Vlad the Bad in the strongest terms. We refuse to ship Russia any more widgets and gizmos in order to punish them for their terrible oppression of the very legitimate and real democracy in Ukraine that is completely independent.

Globocorp Private Email: We are concerned for our Russian colleagues and customers. I mean, holy shit, we just lost a $50m/yr revenue stream and our entire support call center for Eastern Europe. We hope this war ends swifly, and these retards in Washington, Kiev, and Moscow can go back to banging hookers or whatever and we can get back to making money.

We should go back to muzzle loading rifles. Back then people surrendered when the time for the bayonet rush came, because slowly dying from a bayonet gut wound sounds as bad as it is. (Also fighting with bayonets and sabres in general is a lot messier for both sides than shooting each other with assault rifles)
A bayonet charge actually happened in Iraq. Absolutely crazy dudes in the British Army fixed bayonets and charged across 600 feet of open ground and stabbed a couple dozen Mahdi Army to death, without suffering anything more than three wounded.

On the other hand, it could be argued that attaching a bayonet to the end of a dog shit Enfield L85 makes it substantially more useful.

I think it's been well documented over the years.
AZOV/Aidar themselves have always been very open about their presence in those areas. They were also always open that they attracted a bunch of foreign mercenaries.

fyi - They have the Ukraine Olson twins as poster girls who can be seen very often with AZOV or wearing AZOV gear

If these are the type of chicks a supposedly Nazi grp is letting in then they're larpers. Girl probably got ran through by the Chechens.

In the case of the Wagner guys, it may not be. Let's be honest though, slavs have never given a shit about little things like "war crimes" or "atrocities".
True but the Ukes were referring to uniformed soldiers. The "we're holding the high moral ground cause we're an independent country blah blah blah " simply evaporated.

Russian mercenaries are on the route to Ukraine to defeat the evil Nazis but:

Two Nazi groups being paid by two Jews to kill each other, what a yeeeaaaaar.

America isn't read for this kind of clownshit war that the neoliberals and neocons want to join.

Americans have been raised on good guys versus bad guys like those old cowboy movies for decade.

Americans cannot handle this level of insanity, and those who reached this level of nuance, ended up like Colonel Kurtz, and realized all the brutes needed to be bomb, kill all the brutes, the horror, the horror.

South Africa's will was broken by the advent of television and its ushering of 20 years of pozz into their culture.

Sad.
It was always fucked, it was just a matter of how it would go down. The demographics were pure doom, and they only have themselves to blame. Late 40s/early 50s they cut off British immigration, so they weren't getting more whites anymore. But hey at least the boers thought they'd be able to keep their positions. Oops.

They didn't surrender as much as broke and ran away. The cavalry then chased them down and sabered them so they couldn't reform a new line. This was the "nice" way. When assaulting a fortified position like a city usually everyone inside got a good raping/pillaging as the defending soldiers were rooted out.

Being more stabby did not result in kinder gentler warfare.

They won't be tried for war crimes either. The rest of the world is like "Ohh, that's too bad" whenever it gets pointed out. War crimes exist only for people to say they do but nothing gets done.

Just goes to show you how terrifying a bayonet charge is lol

Yeah, but the closer fighting made it more "real" and therefore less easy to "just kill" your enemy.
Today we have fighting from a kilometer away. And of course the indoctrination of troops makes sure every soldier knows how much WMDs the enemy has, or how much they like their warcrimes etc. and then it gets much easier to blow them up from distance.

There is a reason my little town in Belize went indoors, shuttered the windows and locked the doors for the duration when the Brits at the nearby naval base had leave.

Honestly, THIS.

If the Molotov was a fucking uber weapon then why wasn't it used effectively in the Iraq insurgency?

Here is the answer after a 3 second search:

Answer:

Plus, a tank is usually supported by infantry and it has its own machine gun. This Molotov B.S. is just suicide. At least, the sharpshooter and the imagers idea wear possible if impractical.
I saw how effective the molotovs were against that armored column in that video many pages back. The would-be bottle chuckers were seen on thermal optics, and then promptly wasted by what I can only guess was a vehicle mounted 50 cal. The forest they were hiding in was also deforested just like that scene in Predator where they cut down the trees with a hail of bullets. I'm not a gun expert by any means, but I was a little surprised to see holes blown in 24 inch thick hardwood trunks. The Ukranians who encouraged that should have just handed out pamphlets instead with the title:

How to become ground meat, a primer.
