Comparing this to the winter war is just absurd, it's very clear that they are about to shut the lid on the cauldron and surround most of Ukraine's fighting men, this will not be some prolonged war that lasts months and months. Also Russia never was pursuing a strategy of a quick victory at all costs, they've been moving slowly and methodically and have gone out of their way to not completely destroy civilian infrastructure, it's really the exact opposite of what you described.

Nearly all the info we have points to Russia expecting mass uprising in favor of Russia from day 1. Look how piss poor their logistics have become barely a week into the war. Numbers of dead russians might be higher than ru military disclosed, although not as high as ukraine wants you to believe. Thing is, not only azov (or army) using civilian clothes to ambush, they using suicide bombers to take out columns. And already did it not once and not twice. Again unverified information and second hand account.
To more verifiable facts. Drafting in Russia is happening, up to age 50, but so far it affects only those who served in vdv or in tank troops. Commissars already showing up at workplaces to be sure you signed call-up order.
