A lot longer than that, in TV, movies, etc. There was never a cease in Russian being portrayed as "bad guys". Even when Muslims were the "IRL bad guys", media often used Russians as the terrorists, because that was more PC somehow. What the fuck. No apparent damage. Did they run out of fuel yet again? Russia has only a limited supply of fighting vehicles. Sure does seem like the Russian Army helps Ukraine by abandoning vehicles to make up for Ukrainian losses.

Yes, but that's a rare exception and we only got that because the EU hadn't fully consolidated its power and David Cameron thought a referendum would return a 'no' like when they agreed to a referendum on changing the electoral system and a media blitz on it sunk any chance of it happening. Another five or six years and the vote would have been to stay in or quite probably there wouldn't have been a vote at all.

The people of those regions DID vote to leave (or federalize in Luhansk's case). But the Ukranian govt. did not recognise that. In fact, they began shelling those regions.
