2022 Mad at the Internet Patch Sale

I submit my patch design. It is free to use

patch nerd input:

using a preset shape such as a circle, emblem, or logo will reduce costs. patches with small things like arms, legs and other design parts that stick out from the body of the patch are a pain in the ass to secure down when attaching the patch and raise costs for the maker having to program in the custom shape to their embroidery machine.

A good border of a common thread color (usually black) is ideal for those who will want to sew on the patch, makes it easier to sew on for the dumb, and makes the inner design pop more.

Velcro backing is actually not that common and can be more costly (2 pieces instead of one). Most modern patches will have just an iron-on backing or interfacing (a white fabric type thing used usually inside clothing). Patches without backing suck as the threads are then exposed on the back.

embroided patches >>> printed patches. Embroidery lasts far longer and will have less error rates than smooth printed ones.

for sourcing , you can first look at local physical embroidery shops and ask them if they do large batches/for their recommendations. online is fine but I suggest checking reviews and sticking with shops who's primary product are patches/embroidery. You may have to handle shipping out yourself as patches are low-value and small so the manufacturers will just want to send the full batch to you.

Most places will offer between 5-7 colors in the design for free before charging more.

2-4 inches is ideal patch size.

That Dox found patch seems a little too obvious.
What do you think a member of the general public is going to spot a small obscure (even it it literally said 'kiwifarms' on it let's be honest) patch and be like

"hey, that's a sneed reference! He must post on kiwifarms, cranium dat bitch"

Even if somebody knew, personally I wouldn't give a fuck. I talk about it openly enough to friends when it's something they'd find interesting. Lastly if anyone had a problem with it (people hardly know what reddit is, let alone us) I'd just tell them that it's :

I've seen a couple variants of these patches around. A version featuring slobbermutt would be pretty funny without being obviously from the Kiwi Farms.

Here's my quick-and-dirty mock-up of a possible design. Basically everything is open to change, especially the dog head, since I know from experience the dog's head will have to be redone to work on a 3" by 3" patch. Just wanted to see if anyone else thought this was a good idea before I commit to refining things.

EDIT: Refined the designs, came up with some variants. They're in this post.

I want to get yelled at too.

If you're incorporating a kiwi for the patches, may I recommend a Betty White lookalike silhouette since she loved animals? I think it would give a friendlier vibe to help boost your image.

Something like this, but obviously smaller and a kiwi substituting the dog.
