CNN, ABC and CBS News to stop broadcasting in Russia after Putin's threat to lock up journalists for 12 years: Bloomberg, BBC and Canada's CBC 'temporarily suspend' operations

  • CNN has said it would stop broadcasting in Russia while Bloomberg and the BBC said they would temporarily suspend the work of their journalists there
  • CBS News stated that it is no longer broadcasting from the country
  • ABC News has several correspondents working in the country currently but none were broadcasting from Russia on Friday night
  • CBC Canada 'temporarily suspended' the work of their journalists in the country
>"Putin is deliberately censoring information Russians see"
>"we're cutting off our service to Russians"

Kim and Xi are watching all of this and wondering how they can get all this help from the west with their censorship.

The Ukrainian military say that in the area of Severodonetsk, Lugansk region, a counterattack was carried out on the Russian military, breaking one of the groups of the RF Armed Forces, but most likely these are LDNR militants.

idk bro they’re called sanctions and they’ve always existed lol

imagine being so terminally online as to call sanctions “cancel culture”
Imagine hating Twitter so much that you unironically use it to measure everything against including a war.
Idk, when you have companies virtue signaling their sanctions, Ukraine pressuring Coke and Pepsi to leave Russia over at Twitter, Russian citizens being detained on Canada just because they're Russian, and the Pedo Takei telling you to suck up the inflation to own Vlad I think that's clear it's cancel culture.

Call it by what it is. It's really sick how much twitterbrained current year is that this idiotic shit happens.

Cancel culture is not just “this person bad” but the whole lib circus they do to ostracize and claim their moral superiority.

They still have thousands and thousands in storage. Worst case they just overhaul them. Those aren't post Cold War designs by any means.
Likely, but question if they have the money/ability to overhaul them. Just like the trucks. Suggest there are X number in storage, but no funds and now no time to overhaul them. That's why the Russians are taking civilian trucks, which are likely also built pretty stoutly, for just such a contingency.

Exactly. This has gone faaaar beyond sanctions to "let's punish every russian in existence". Cutting off their licences to legally purchased software, bricking their hardware and all the other questionably legal shit companies have pulled on people simply for their nationality is ridiculous.

You love to see it.

Kim is watching this desperately hoping that all this new tension leads to Russia actually selling him semi modern weapons. What are they going to do if Russia does? Sanction them harder?

The Ukes should put plenty of MANPADS in those areas, do point defenses of the factory areas. Don't believe the Russians are sending strategic bombers. Strike aircraft could well be vulnerable. Drones...not sure if they have enough of a heat signature for a Stinger to home in on.

Maybe it's time for Uke drones to hit Russian/Belarus power distribution stations in range. Knock out some big transformers, maybe. Not always quick and easy to replace.
Normally, transformers are not easy to replace but maybe they had the foresight to have replacements on hand in their planning piece. I know I would.

"Hey Kim want a couple of ICBMs on the house, we programmed in target locations for you to make it easier. Just hit the big red button and they'll do the rest".

Suggest that if this shit keeps up the "woke" garbage will be put to the side in preparation for trouble in Europe. People in these "woke"-related jobs will be put back in their primary specialties or do something else actually useful. A potential major-league shooting conflict tends to concentrate the military minds wonderfully.
I think Academic Agent predicted that the dialing back of woke would happen, not to focus resources, but to increase the morale of the fighting-age male population from "my government is literally Satan" to "At least we're not the Chicoms". To be fair he probably lives in an echo chamber and assumes all young men on some level think the same way.

Oh nooooos! What will they do without misinformation?

Nice to see a neutral here, considering that there’s a lot of things that can drive someone here to being pro Russia.
Honestly, the Redditors are doing a good enough job of that for me. And I'd like to see Daddy Vladdy "fall down some stairs." But seeing the soys go there and get owned would also be a favorable outcome.

Going with @Spicey McHaggis here. I tend to doubt it. This contingency may not have even entered the Russians'/Belarusians' minds. They expected a walkover. Not happening. Starting to turn into another Finland for the Russians.

Vlad seriously needs to declare victory and go home.
