The maps lie. In truth Russia controls certain towns and the roads between them. Russia doesn't have the manpower to occupy the rear, and it's now filled with Ukrainian units striking logistic convoys behind the front. Russia is still winning. But this is the winter war all over again
I get the feeling that these ambushes are happening at the spearheads not in the rear.

I've honestly never seen so much abandonment in terms of ground equipment from any army that is conducting offensive operations.
Are they getting divided, cut up and conquered like in Finland or something?

How? This isn't the woody marshland of Finland, its plains and cities. And why abandon so much equipment? Why not retreat in a tank? What the heck is happening here?
Ukraine as a real bad muddy season and it is compounded with gross incompetence from Russian logistics to conduct preventive maintenance schedules. There are some examples of Ukrainian soldiers eyeballing Russian APCs and wondering how their equipment is in worse condition than USSR surplus. There is one tiktok where a Ukrainian opens the driver's hatch to an abandoned BMP to find the driver's seat missing and replaced with a empty ammo crate. It's been mentioned several times over but the Russians have been buying cheap tires from China that are rotting and falling apart in the field and there is one example where a Russian ERA upgrade package was made out of plastic inserts.

An easy self-check on propaganda is whether or not you see one side as the heroic, morally pure good guys, and the others as the dastardly, evil bad guys, and can only explain the conflict in terms of bad guys inexplicably trying to do terrible things to the good-hearted innocents. If that's how you frame the conflict, you're probably just repeating propaganda.
I think this is a product of people whose minds were melted growing up playing video games.

It's only good versus evil and there is no room for nuance here! No I don't care about the random 18 year old Russian conscripts that just got tossed into a meat grinder for no reason ALL RUSSIANS ARE EVIL

You do realize thats propaganda though? Someone switched out the seat. The Russians have so many surplus apcs of older models that they can easily just replace the seats. Like it cant be that bad.

Nobody attacks a Nuclear power, who has tried to invade one? This is why the NATO argument is full of shit on the Russia side.
The US was attacked and is currently being invaded. You mean no *state* attacks or invades a nuclear power.

except that's not even true, India and Pakistan attack and invade each other all the time, and when isn't Israel under attack?

That doomsday clock thing is retarded because the guys doing it can't see the future. It means nothing.
Nah.
It's absolutely true and gives power to end world to any random janitor with access to it.

Russia published its list of demands. According to the Kremlin, accepting them will mean an immediate withdrawal of all troops and the immediate end of the "military operation".

1. Renounce claim on Crimea and accept it is now Russian
2. Accept the independence of LNR and DNR
3. Change the constitution to enshrine the country's non-participation in any military alliance.

They also pointed out Ukrainean government is not effectively in control of their own country that is effectively being ran by "radical movements".
So pretty much the Georgian play book all over again except messier on the Russians behalf.

So whats the gameplan now?
Drag the war out and slowly starve Russia?
Apparently so, make it as difficult to advance and time consuming as possible to make it not worth to continue.
But this would be praying on Putin not snapping and saying "enough is enough" and getting everything bombarded to hell civilians and infrastructure be dammed

Russia failed to get the desired success with the blitzkrieg.
At this point they've got to the negotiate a peace or go all in stage. They're struggling to make ground but that doesn't mean to say a suitably pissed off/frustrated Russia couldn't seriously fuck Ukraine up.

"Don't worry comrade, the actual ERA package isn't that much better"

I'm gonna go with occam's razor on that one. I really doubt a Ukrainian thinks to swap out a seat with an ammo crate for propaganda. There's also the countless trucks wondering the roads and getting picked off by Ukr militias and being laden with supplies that are haphazard and non sensical. And the several examples where Russian vehicles are found with MREs expired from years ago. I doubt the CIA planted expired Russian rations before the invasion for such a false flag. Russian logistics is losing this war.

So, this is pretty much Winter War 2.0. Ukraine have defended itself and is offered to trade land for peace.

I used to think this was a possibility but I'm not sure anymore. The state of the Russian airforce is apparently pretty bad right now. I get the sense that the AA capabilities of the Ukrainians have given them real gear fear since sanctions are going to significantly impede their ability to replace aircraft the Ukrainians down with stingers of peace.

Why is Russia spending so much time and resources on killing slavs rather than promoting more children among western Russian families?
yeah why can't a complete disaster like Russia manage to solve a universal problem that not a single other group of people has been able to solve?

birth rates are cratering everywhere, Russians are even less likely to solve this problem than the Japanese
