Export ban was rescinded in 2015 because American crude sold at a premium on intl markets. Bipartisan groups have been trying to reinstate it since 2020 and we'll probably see it happen again this year.
Something apparently a lot of people don't know is while countries like Saudi Arabia have lots of high quality oil, so do we, and while we're not as plentifully supplied with oil as we are with coal, the oil we do have is generally of very high quality, light, sweet, crude oil. Which you can do nearly anything you want with. So it generally sells at a premium and is preferred by those who have some specific reason for needing high quality oil.

The only reason we don't have a trade surplus on fossil fuels is we use so much ourselves.

On the topic of US oil going abroad: Whether it's the greens, the commies, the chuds, or even the pedolord himself, there's going to be an oil export ban combined with increased drilling (which is already happening). It's been on the table since last year, since before the Russia crisis was even on the radar.
Why though? Gas wasn't high because of exports and exporting fuel to Europe would actually alleviate a massive strategic concern.

Imran Khan Pak PM attacks the West over Russia-Ukraine

Has Putin brought the forever foes India and Pakistan together, in the sense that India abstained from the Resolution and Pakistan is more clearly pro-Russian (perhaps following their ally PRC)? Apologies if posted already. Nobel Peace Prize for Putin?
Pakistan has been reeeeeing like this several times a year for a long time. I'd be more worried if they weren't reeeeeing about how they don't get no respek

I know people like dumping on this dude and he comes across as the Elephant's Foot of A&N autism sometimes but I don't see anything particularly glowy about this. Politics is really about crazy shit like this. What do politicians care about any of us, ever? Are you useful to them? Do they actually need you? That's pretty much about it. Wait until they need you then throw a banana peel under their feet.

Not even in Minecraft because it's such a silly, harmless bit of cartoon violence.
I honestly just now looked at his thread and I wouldn't at all be surprised at all if I was right. What kind of faggot brags so hard about being a /pol/ ack other than someone who desperately wants to be accepted by /pol/acks? "Hello fellow kids?"

Anyway, I think my qanon analogy speaks for itself. There is clearly chaos now. There is clearly a chance to "throw a banana peel" just by saying no to all the bullshit they want us to do over Ukraine. And here we have this faggot saying "No guys wait until the time is really really right." Really makes you think. He is probably just retarded, but fucking come on.

And pornhub will insert ads that will re-direct to Ukranian humanitarian aid mid fucking for maximum hilarity
I can't imagine a way to piss off a coomer more. There he is, dick in hand, about to blow a load all over the room, and suddenly he learns why all Ukrainians need to be genocided.

The AnH Invasion thread got me to think exactly this. Then I came here and started to change my mind. Largely because the AnH kept downvoting me every time I said Russia has comprehensible motivations.
You aren't allowed to understand and disagree with opinions and thoughts. You either agree with someone 100% and support them to your dying breath or they are a Nazi/Communist/racist/psychopath/etc. It's friend or enemy. Pick one chud

For once, I agree with Boynie and Co. on this. They want American oil to stay in American markets.

That, friends and neighbors, is America First.
That's not necessarily America First though. Leveraging North America's vast oil supplies in the global market would make us more money and keep prices low anyway.

Also, I believe the confiscation of phones belonging to Russian soldiers by their gov't did happen, which is why when it comes to footage about the progress of the Russian military, I either see them made only by Russian press or, for the most part, Ukies.

However, I do think the Russian gov't has made an exception with their Chechen forces. I'm guessing Kadyrov asked Putin or some other official if he and some of his men can use their phones, and they said yes.

I agree that a smart policy of reserving X barrels of oil for US consumption and exporting any excess would be the smart thing. But I have little faith in congress to not enact black-and-white policy here.

Eurofaggots can take care of themselves, after all those decades of haw-hawing and hon-honning about how much better they are than us stupid American cowboys.

They wanted their green asspats. They made their bed, they can sleep in it.

I think it's actually possible (a détente between Pakistan and India). Khan pretends to be an observant Muslim but he was formerly a Cricket star and playboy. To me he seems like a pragmatic nationalist, which gives him common ground with Putin and Modi. There's also this quote from his wiki page
In 2010, Khan said in an interview: "I grew up hating India because I grew up in Lahore and there were massacres of 1947, so much bloodshed and anger. But as I started touring India, I got such love and friendship there that all this disappeared."

I voted Ukraine takes back Crimea because why not nothing else has gone to expectation. Crimea is probably gonna get declared the personal fief of Samuyil Hydenskyy by King Kikenskyy and then Russia is fucked of course

We had that policy in the 1950s and 1960s. What the US effectively did with that power was use it to manipulate global energy prices up or down in pursuit of other economic or foreign policy goals. It seems like that sort of a policy would have economic benefits to the US, but history showed it to be more of a mixed bag. The tail would always end up wagging the dog. The needs of the empire would tend to become the priority rather than the needs of the nation.
