I know it's a really hard language to learn, but you could at least make an attempt to communicate instead of none.

The problem with most guys that go abroad is they live in big cities that can accommodate English. So its not surprising to see someone live in an asian country for 10 years and don't speak a lick of the local tongue. You either need to invest time and money to learn it though a tutor or go to a remote village and do the lingustic version of sink or swim.

That being said I have met many happy and stable WMAF marriages and speaking her native tongue helps a lot. Just because she can speak English, doesn't mean she can express everything she wants to. Translation errors and constantly being at a loss for words is uneeded added frustration to the relationship.
