Now ask yourself why no Republican was trying to pass a bathroom ban before that point, and that trannies had been going into women's bathrooms without anyone on the right caring much for decades before that. In fact, transitioned troons had the right to marry before gays and lesbians did (in 1976). The ruling that allowed a trans woman into women's sports happened in 1977. The court cases saying that discriminating against troons counts as discriminations against women all happened in the early 2000s. It's like the entire legal history of troonism is, for the most part, entirely separate from gay rights.

Suddenly the right is out the purge the trannie menace, having not noticed their fucked up misogyny up to that point, and the left feels they need to unquestioningly defend every insane nutso thing that troons do. It's so weird that the US can watch its position in the world drop continously, can watch life expectancy drop year to year, and yet somehow both sides really only care about the next big culture war issue. It's like your political class is managing the decline of your hasbeen empire through manufactured outrage, on the left and right? That can't be true. They must all really believe in what they say.
