In a hypothetical scenario, let's say Doug did let Lewis film at the Chicago studio at a 'friends and family' rate, Lewis transported the spaceship walls to Chicago, and left them there.

Movie would be exactly the same quality. And let's take the clock forward and Lewis joins CTC and then demands Doug transport the set back to Lewis in Minneapolis on Doug's dime.

And let's say Lewis decides to cite his dad's legal expertise on this just like he did on fair use. Note: Loren Lovhaug isn't a lawyer and never was a lawyer. Lewis claimed his dad studied law in college, which is ambiguous to mean as little as taking a single prelaw class but implying a law degree.

Doug dodged a major bullet by having Mike shutting down Lewis's request.

Well he probably would have tried to convince Malcolm and Tamara to be in it too just so he can have more characters who don't contribute anything. And he probably would have hired on Rob as the cinematographer instead of whoever he got so he would have gotten someone familiar with the studio. But yeah, aside from that, it would have been the same.

Spoiler: Spoilered for Autism

You know, there could have been an interesting trilogy if someone besides Lewis took the character arc he attempted further and had some humility. For the first movie, you have the other CA contributors as space pirates who capture Comicron 1 and Linkara needs to take them all out and get his ship back before it's used to blow up some nuclear silos or something. Throughout the movie, Linkara is arrogant but this mission ends up testing him to his limits and he stops bragging as he realizes he's pretty outclassed. The final battle sees him almost dead and it's more luck than anything that keeps him alive.

Second movie you have a similar premise to the original. It's Linkara's birthday and after a night of drinks, he has nightmares about the first movie, along with some other incidents, and admits to Agent Lani that he's worried about dying in one of his fights, so Lani tries to keep it a secret that Mechakara is back. We get some flashbacks to show how Mechakara came to be, including the divergence where the different universes split. Linkara goes after his old enemy, gets the shit kicked out of him, and is almost ready to throw in the towel when he realizes that if he doesn't finish this, no one else will, so he sets aside his personal problems and throws everything he's got at Mechakara, finally taking him out for good.

Movie three is where the Multiverse is having issues and alternate Linkara's come to the CA universe. Our Linkara meets an alternate self who never became a hero and seems more well adjusted. There's also an older Linkara from an alternate future who kept fighting and is a complete mess, to the point where he's become a villain, who brings alternate versions of all of Linkara's villains back for one big battle, while Linkara brings in all of his friends. Rather than turn into this evil version, Linkara hangs up his hat and coat at long last and leaves his house, not sure of what he'll do, but happy that it'll be something safe.

Of course, this would never happen because Lewis doesn't understand mental problems, character development, or not doing something so autistically weighed down by continuity but oh well.

He actually handled the porn leak pretty decently compared to now. He got frustrated at first but then just owned up to it that he has old porn stories and shit, without going into detail.

But after CTC...boy...I think the ChannelAwesome association gave him some incentive to be more professional even if it was only in his head.

Lewis now reminds me of those owners you see on Kitchen Nightmares or Bar Rescue who have an establishment which use to be popular but has become outdated and stale due to their unwillingness to change with the times. They also are in complete denial that anything needs to be changed that Gordon or Jon will just come point out some small mundane thing is causing a domino effect which is sabotaging their business and once that is corrected it will be like the good old days again.

Linkara has a super obvious ego problem where he can not be seen in weakness, it pissed him off that now we had something to make fun of him of. That is the plan. There was a stream Liz did a few years ago where Liz recounts asking lewis was his endgame was. At first it was "stepping stone to industry job" but near the end became "ride the train until it ends, then deal with it"

An insider said Lewis has made statements of if he fails, he does it on 'his terms'.

None of these people have any capacity for foresight, nor anyone for whom making YouTube videos/streaming is their only job. Unless they're making way times more than the average salary and are banking it away, then they're going to have to make their videos for their entire lives until the age of 60 - which they obviously cannot do because everyone eventually ceases to have relevance and fall by the wayside. Unless you really think that you can rely on this for income until your pushing retirement age, then you have to admit to yourself that eventually it's going to end. They're all doomed in the long run and I don't understand how they can't see it.

Loren has guest-starred in Lewis's videos multiple times. If anything, he seems to think his son is amazingly famous, like Bob Chandler did. Lewis did claim in the Lindsay Ellis/LordKat stream about Fair Use that his dad 'studied law', where Lewis was obviously trying to imply his dad was a lawyer , but Loren isn't listed in the Minnesota bar and his linkedin shows him working at a corporate coaching company, so I think Lewis is overinflating his dad taking one or two pre-law classes as legal expertise.
