Whoever popularized twerking should be [OMITTED FOR FEDPOSTING]. Why is it so ubiquitous in kid's media especially? Even the fucking Powerpuff Girls reboot made Blossom and Bubbles do it. There's no humor to it, it's just gross, especially since it's ALWAYS child characters.

Turning Red is taking in all the quirky shit kids do, which I guess in this case includes twerking. It sounds ridiculous, but tiktok suggests it's fairly common.

I thought it was a diabetic thing. The implanted blood sugar readers that tell you what it is in live time, something like that.

I didn think those were common in the early 2000's, though as nobody in my family is diabetic (of either kind) I am probably wrong. I just remember the commecials for the implanted readers really becoming common in the 2010's.

Quick research tells me the FDA first approved those type of monitors in 1999, so while they wouldn't have been common, they did exist. Or maybe they just really didn't care about year accuracy despite having lived through the years it's set in.

While the FDA approved those monitors (continuous glucose monitors, or CGMs) in the late 90s/early 2000s, they were not commercialized and most healthcare providers (and more importantly health insurance companies or single-payer government health agencies) knew nothing about them. At that time period, anything state of the art, like CGMs, were exclusively used in hospitals as a supplement to the standard finger blood prick test (which still required large amounts of blood, were quite expensive, and clunky). It’s 100% anarchocristic.

I actually want it to be an estrogen patch for peak clown world pandering, but it looks too thick to be one (or one of those birth control patches that were recalled due to terrible side effects in that time period).

Source: was a Type 1 Diabetic during that time period. A bit grumpy that this will be the first diabetic Disney character (at least they aren’t jamming in down our throats — probably because nobody cares about diabetics).

This is her, btw. She made headlines for being Disney's FIRST EVER named gay character in an animated kids movie. I wouldn't be surprised if it came out that the CEO himself personally rejected any other more appealing designs for this character JUST to make sure that they're ugly as sin just to stick it to the twitter Disney Adult crowd.

This movie is just so damn....

Literally looks like a Calarts shitshow but 3D. This is PIXAR, goddamnit! They were capable of much more than this, making movies and moments that shaped our childhoods:

And the idea of....this shaping someone's childhood, the fact that the studio behind it has the same name, just makes me sick to my stomach.

Honestly, between this Turning Red movie being astroturfed and Disney proving that they love money and elite status than pandering to a tiny little minority that gets used as tools for infighting over a bill that protects children from being groomed, it’s just never not hilarious to me that people still think that Disney is in a renaissance age when it’s just soulless corporatism being disguised as “family friendly entertainment”.

It’s gotten so bad that I can’t even make “Walt Disney should have checked those Jewish staffers‘ credentials when he had the chance” jokes anymore. Not even pro-Disney millennials that love Frozen can stomach this.

Only mistake that critic made aside from apologizing was thinking that this was made for a “target audience”. That word hasn‘t mean anything since the last few Star Wars movies were released without love or appreciation to the fans.
