Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

It all would have worked had it just been on Boba’s Infinitely more successful, better written, cooler Chad counterpart, Jango Fett. What I wouldn’t do for a series on him. Too bad Disney hates creativity now so it would never happen.
A better version of the show could have included Jango Fett in a plot that connected with Boba’s in the present day instead of Mando taking over for two episodes.

The Joker thing is why I'm fine with stories rebooting after a certain amount of time, especially movies. Any continuity that goes on for years ends up turning into a soap opera because you can't kill off beloved characters, and when you do they have to be resurrected as a secret twin, a clone, etc. Just look at the MCU with Blacktain America, Lady Thor, Discount Black widow, and on and on.

I assume all the discussion about Book of Boba Fett was done pages back. But I just watched it and I must sperg.

It was not good. In no particular order:
  • Shouldn't Boba Fett be younger? We see Luke and he looks actually younger than in Return of the Jedi! I guess we never see Boba with his mask off in the OT but I didn't realise the guy under there was supposed to be sixty. He was a child in the PT. OT is around twenty years later. I'd have pegged him at 40 at most.
The kid who played Boba in AOTC is in his thirties and would have been a much better fit for the character than a 60-year-old lump, but Temuera is known to the fans and the dopamine hit they get from recognizing that guy from that thing they saw a clip of on YouTube is more important than being true to the character. As for any other criticisms, just remember it's a live-action cartoon made solely for woke adult children who cry whenever Deepfake Luke is onscreen.

Lumiya's primary teaching to Jacen is that he has to sacrifice everything, family, friends, his life. For something else. What that was varied inconsistently(the writers couldn't agree what Jacen's motivations were-it varied from stopping the Dark Man, to ensuring Allana would rule the galaxy to saving Luke, to saving Allana from falling herself).
Except for the times in LotF where he also wants to create a OC Donut Steel Sith controlled empire with a master and apprentice, and you can't even blame that on Jacen having lost his way as noted in the later books because he still wants to do it by Invincible. It would almost be too interesting if Jacen was fully willing to become a Sith to do what he needed to do and then die and have his new Sith die with him, so the usual Sith shenanigans are thrown in there halfheartedly to compensate.

@The handsome tard
The youngling scene probably needed some adjustment but I think it's pretty obvious why Lucas included it. In story, there's the "the only way to become a stronger Sith and save your wife is give in completely to evil" line that Palpatine says, but it was also a conscious effort to dispense with any notion that Anakin wasn't full blown evil when he became Vader. When you do a half measure and only show arguable evil or give excuses and justification after the fact, you get the "Kylo dindu nuffin" wanking we currently have with the sequel trilogy.

That's an interesting way of looking at it. I know why Lucas did it, but the execution of it was ridiculous. Most people forget in the scene after Anakin kills the Separatists on Mustafar he's visibly crying because he knows what he did was absolutely evil but he thinks he's gone too far to turn back. That's not an excuse for him killing younglings but still. He had to go all the way. Whether someone still thinks he deserves to be redeemed is up to them, but I think he suffered enough in life afterwards for the all of the awful shit he did willingly serving Palpatine.

"I'm sooo conflicted"
*betrays his own family to LARP as a sith nazi for no apparent reason*
"I'm so full of conflict!"
*murders a town of people after violently raiding their village at night*
"I'm so conflicted audience!"
*kills Max Von Sydow because he got mad once*
"Can't you see how conflicted I am??"
*clearly goes out of his way to be evil all the time*
*never once shows remorse for his actions*
Dumb Star Wars fans: "Wow this guy must be conflicted because he said he's conflicted. What a wholesome cinnamon roll who dindu nuffin"
Rey: "This guy makes my ladyhood tremble and I want to save his soul and have his babies"
I can't fucking stand Kylo and the people who defend him. It almost makes me glad Lucas had Anakin kill children.

Why did you watch something you knew you wouldn't enjoy?
Well, I wasn't going. To I'd enjoyed S1 of the Mandalorian and S2 less so but still finished it. I didn't know anything about the Boba Fett series but saw a clip with Baby Yoda and Luke floating frogs around and figured if it had a wider focus than I'd thought, I'd give it a try. Curiousity got me through the first three episodes. Inertia through the remainder.

It's not a good excuse. I should make better use of my time.

This is a growing problem I have noticed in a lot of media. Viewer's opinions based not on a character's actions nor their own interpretation, but simply taking what they are told. I'm starting to worry it represents an actual trend in people's mental abilities.

Joker isn't really a reboot though, it's a completely standalone story lightly re-skinned with the Batman IP. Phoenix's Joker doesn't even work as a villain to Batman, given that he has no mental or physical capabilities to speak of, and would be an old man by the time young Bruce grows up. Change "Gotham City", "Joker", "Thomas Wayne" to something royalty-free and remove the 60 second young Bruce Wayne cameo, and you'd be left pretty much with exactly the same movie, except now it's its own thing separate from the DC universe.

Where are all the trannies? Reported for Transphobia transerasure and antisemitism. MODS?!
There were ever only two trannies prior to disney fagging things up and the first was dealt with accordingly by Sing.

Second one unsurprisingly died disease-ridden.

Joker in DC comics terminology is an Elseworlds title. DC Elseworlds is their version of Marvel's What-If. Which to see Todd Phillips unintentionally and inadvertently make a live action Joker Elseworlds movie is rather amusing to me. Except apparently other than old DC comic fans and DC animation [Gotham by Gaslight, Samurai Batman] everybody else forgotten Elseworlds exists.

Fun fact: Greedo in ANH was played by a woman:

Anybody remember Luke's deleted not-GF from ANH? Her name was Camie.

I always liked those scenes but I understand why they were cut from the movie.

Oh shit, I just went on Wookiepedo and apparently she's canon now. She was in Book of Booba Fatt.

We also can't forget the true leader of the Rebellion, Mon Mothma.

She was a strong, competent and capable leader before Disney shat all over her legacy.

TLJ is obviously terrible but I liked Rose's sister who was way more attractive than her. It's incredible that Rian cast a Japanese woman to be the sister of a Vietnamese woman because all Asians look alike anyways then having her like a Kamikaze pilot and killing herself.

And another reminder of what Kathleen Kennedy and Disney took from us, a potentially awesome female villain for the sequels.

George's Star Wars has always had a progressive portrayal of women which is something I always appreciated about it.

Greeeeat.... Now to put up with another insufferable month or so of consoomers and battered housewives declaring that star wars is saved for the 42nd time because they clapped and cried when they saw more 'nostalgic' Filoni, prequel and Ahsoka cameos. And whilst they white knight for their need to consume, we get to hear about how much they want to fuck the new broad with the dyke haircut. What joy.

I can imagine how insufferable SW Theory is going to be.

And the teaser has come.
