Marketing departments need to fucking hang. Either they are completely out of touch or they unironically think using something bad to promote their product will somehow make it good.

Either way, between that and the robot face design on the middle of the controller, this makes me NOT want to buy it.

The PS3 was a goddamned disaster and it was but by a miracle (the 360's rrod) that sony was allowed to continue as a hardware manufacturer.

I had a PS3 at launch and mainly played R&C Tools of Destruction and A Crack In Time, along with Little Big Planet 1 and 2. I was still in elementary for all of the PS3, but I remember it being a great system thanks to those titles and Arkham. By the end of its life, my dad would get Twisted Metal as he loved the PS1 games, and that game was super fun with friends, same for LBP2. I would also get PlayStation All-Stars by the end, which again, was a great title even if it has some major flaws.

I've been watching some GT7 streams, since I haven't resorted to selling kidneys to get a PS5 yet, and the game doesn't look appealing to play for some reason. Maybe it's because it doesn't seem to have some of the new cars that are in the Forza games, i.e. no Bugatti Chiron or Divo, no Corvette C8 (I think), no Mercedes AMG-One, etc. Some of the cars from the older GT names not being included in GT7, i.e. the Lexus LFA, is also baffling. Volvo not being in GT7 also seems baffling, although it could be because Volvo is scaling back on car licensing (?), which is why there haven't been any new Volvos in the recent Forza games.

Or it could be that GT's gameplay, where you start with a econobox and have to work your way to the fast cars, is maybe outdated? The microtransaction advertisements in your face don't help either.

It's a fucking knockoff PS5 controller with a USB stick as a console and it's being put out by a Chinese fly by night company. They don't have a marketing department, they have Chang and his pirated copy of Photoshop.

GT's main demographic are asians and arabs. They love being told they can spend money for THING right away in a game.

Finally played Destruction All-Stars and I have to say, it is a great game with tons of missed potential. The gameplay is very smooth and fun. It does feel like a less violent car-combat game, but it works. The powers are fun so far and the general aesthetic is good.

In saying this though, the game is hindered by its designs. The characters look like ass, not a single one is appealing from a design standpoint. Most people are simping for the cosplay e-girl, but she is honestly poorly designed and would look like shit had she not been thrusted into such an unappealing cast. The best design to me was BoxTop. The dude has personality and a design with memorable elements unlike the rest of the cast. I will admit, the game does get down the personalities though as care was put into these dumpster fire designs.

It appears that this game may just be a test. It has been rumored that this team will make Twisted Metal PS5, which is great. They have the general feel down and can flesh out characters in subtle ways. Hopefully Twisted gives them the better designs they need to make a game appealing.

It gets especially bad around specific car brands because some will get into fights about Audis being better and they always fucking pay for the stupidest shit for their luxury sedans.

Bullshit, they made console sequel to Final Fantasy tactics and made a new Valkyrie profile game with neir's combat system.

The PS5 already has a much more vast RPG selection 2 years in than the PS3 and PS4. It may rival the PS2 if things keep up.

I've got nearly every RPG release for the PS3 I can simply look at my own collection and count.

The PS5 is really going to give Xbox a run for it's money when it comes to the RPG genre in general.

Like nobody gave a single flying fuck about Folklore and Final Fantasy 13 was ass. Demon's Souls was the first big hit the PS3 had when it came to RPGs. Here you have a situation where not only does the PS5 have two Soulsborne games that were received well 2 years in, Sony's own first party RPGs have been well received. Not only that but the Tales of Series first outing on the system was stellar compared to the shitshow of Zestiria. The PS3 Xillia games came out way way fucking later towards the end of the PS3's life. And not only that fucking FATLUS is putting out Soul Hackers 2 this early which mirrors all the fucking SMT games they put out for PS2 over time. the PS3 did not get any SMT games this early.

What the fuck are you talking about? Diofield or whatever the fuck it's called isn't a sequel to FFT. Also let's not pretend Nier has good combat, because it doesn't, Nier is liked because of the story and music, the combat is only serviceable. As far as RPGs, what RPGs? No, having stats and levels does not make a game an RPG.
