Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

And the teaser has come.
They sure do use a lot of prequel music in this trailer. There's Battle of the Heroes, Duel of the Fates, Anakin's Dark Deeds.... none of which will probably show up in the show itself.

Remember that time Disney used a few notes from Duel of the Fates in the trailers for The Rise of Skywalker? Which wasn't played in the movie at all? Yeah, I won't fall for this trick again.

I remember when I first heard about the Obi Wan movie back in like 2016 or something and I was hyped out of my mind for it. Now I'm really not looking forward to seeing how they're going to ruin his character.

Going through the Kenobi Wikipedia page it doesn't look like Filoni is directly involved with it like Mando or Booba Fatt (thank God). The director is Debora Chow who did a few decent episodes from the first season of Mando. She's a lot better than Robert Rodriguez at least but both are the type of shows that are ran by the showrunners. The main writer is a guy named Joby Harold, the writer of such masterpieces as Awake (that movie about being conscious during surgery ) staring our boy Hayden, like Guy Richie's King Arthur film, Army of the Dead and Transformers 6.

Chow's not a bad director but I have no hope in the writing considering this is Lucasfilm we're dealing with.
But her actress isn’t Japanese. She’s Vietnamese. Her name is Veronica Ngo.
My bad. I guess I remember reading some retarded 4chan thread where they pointed out she looked like a Kamikaze and thought she was played by a Japanese actress. Kennedyfilm has been unintentionally racist multiple times before.
At first I thought it was the fat-headed bulky inquisitor from Filoni Rebels who always wore a big hat, but you're both right, its the Pau'an inquisitor with no name.

Like fuck the guy not only looks nothing like the original, but he doesn't even look like a Pau'an anymore. He looks more like a bald version of that lovable alien dude from Galaxy Quest crossed with The Mask.
So the alien makeup/designs being trash in Disney Wars isn't just a problem with some of the movies or some of the TV shows, it's a problem with everything they make. Good to know. Where are all of the people who defended how Cad Bane looked in BoBF at? They're going to have to find a way to make excuses for this.

They will try to hype the stronk black woman up. But this is at once a soulless, yet gutless corporation. You may bet your wallet, your car, your house, your very children that she will not end up being "bad", even if she starts that way. Obi-Wan will be lectured to at least once, possibly more, about how the white peo...err...Jedi were full of hubris and deserved to die off. And they will make sure he's the hero in name only.

Filoni is a fag and they've bought Favreau enough to neuter him if he ever questions anything.

Star Wars is dead. These people always slap you in the face. Sometimes they do you a favor and do it up front. Sometimes they give you a little hope before doing it. But they always do, and then laugh at you like your big brother used to.

Is the budget for these shows dropping to the point where they can't even get decent costumes anymore?
I still can't get over the fact that they turned the Grand Inquisitor into fucking Kryten,

At that point in the timeline, I can see Obi-Wan not wearing Jedi robes until around episode 4. He's most likely thinking they are still hunting Jedi so He wants to try and keep a low profile.

Still looks better than most of Disney Star Wars. That might just be the music though...

So now that we're getting black, female imperials. What's the chance they're actually good people?

Yeah, I think that him wearing normal Tatooine schlub clothes is a good choice, even if it is aesthetically uninspired.

Considering that this is clearly an OC created for the show, and that she's been given a massive amount of prominence in the trailer, there's a solid chance. Or she's only in the show for one episode and dies before revealing child Liea and having the show be yet another story about a middle-aged step-dad doing random shit around the galaxy.

Relatively high. POC female imperials in Disney shit never die and are never truly evil, with them usually being portrayed as victims who were either brainwashed into imperial service or who the disney empire tricked into thinking their planet was saved by them and tricking them into loyalty, at which point said POC imp officer will either have a mental breakdown, get arrested, betray the empire or she will simply shake her fist in anger and be written out to avoid killing her. Whatever the case, you can bet the black imp bitches won't die.

Even this completely irrelevant one wasn't allowed to die with her ship.
Happens every time with every single one of Disney's snowflake imperial token characters. Even in EAfront II's shitty storymode you can't play a faithful imperial goon without the female black lead running off to the Rebels because they wrote Palpatine like a retard to justify her traitarous faggotry.

In short based on Disney's track record, they'll either be captured, written out or redeem themselves and turn into good guys. If one of them is really this broad from the early Disney Wars books:

She definitely won't die because she's a major player in Chuck Windbag's gay books which acted as the replacement for the Thrawn Trilogy since she's the Grand Admiral villain for Luke and friends to struggle against (except they can't kill her), she's also a central part in the Disney sequel background lore for why the Fail Order exists, its implied she'll become a gender-neutral emperor (or at least try to) for a bit, she loves kids, and she's also a lesbian, and because of that last one she has the same level of plot armor as that obnoxious meme-spouting asian lesbian doctor from the Marvel disney wars comics.

2/3s a chance she'll live and become a good or neutral guy because Hollyweird is fucking retarded and needs to pretend they aren't racist at all even as they keep giving black people the white man's sloppy seconds for roles.

Or she’ll tie into the Andor show. Considering that Disney wants to MCUify Star Wars and it’ll be hard to link to Mandalorian, they’ll have this new inquisitor show up somewhere. If she turns against the Empire then she will be appearing in one episode to help Andor hide from the Imperials or whatever faction will be the villain of that show.

He shouldn't use jedi robes at all, but If I could pick, I would use the 2003 Clone Wars armor but painted with another color, such a good costume.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they botch this.

POC women is really a bad ass Jedi under cover and is "hunting" Jedi for the empire, but really saving them. It will undermine the entire OT by establishing there were lots of Jedi around doing good. Obi-Wan will learn what it truly means to be a Jedi from said POC women. There'll be something he does wrong, doesn't understand which she teaches him.

Obi-Wan will probably be retarded and almost get Luke discovered.

The real question is, how will the fuck with young Luke? Probably have scenes of him and Biggs holding hands and being strangely close with each other.

I can imagine how insufferable SW Theory is going to be.

And the teaser has come.
Is this what you OT boomers felt when watching the sequels and their treatment of OT characters?

This show had a potential to be good even on a smaller budget. Creativity is born out limitation and this just seems like Filony and nu-Lucas arts had free reign to make some low tier fanfiction of their ocs.

My idea of a Kenobi series would be his struggle to not leap in to action as he settles in to the life of crazy Ben instead of the action hero. A slower paced series more focused on his relationships with the new characters on Tatooine. A lot of worldbuilding with the locals. Him attemtping to talk to Quigon trough the force.

Most of it would follow the locals and their struggles to stay alive in the Juunland wastes. Tuskans would obviously pay a big part as antagonists as would Jabbas crime empire and bounty hunters. There is a lot to play with for a creative writer you could have Kenobi turning the Sand people on Jabba. You can make very relatable characters that are just struggling to stay afloat out in the dessert.

Since The jedi now are outlaws, big battles shouldn't be prevalent and the any display of lightsaber or the force now has to be last resorts or cleverly disguised as coincidences or pure luck. Any sign of a lightsaber action should now be an oh shit moment.

The empire's involvement should be next to none unless Kenobi goes in to one of the major cities. Cause why would they give a fuck about a sandball in the outer rim?

This is gonna be such a fucking shitshow im gonna be suprised if Kenobi is even in most of the episodes.

I’m just happy to have Ewan back, controversial take but the acting in Phantom is one of the few things the film doesn’t fuck up. Many people go on about how Qui Gon Jin and Obi’s performances are so robotic and stilted, but no that was actually a decision made by the casting directors, they were just asked to give very stern and low key performance to give the Jedi an air of seriousness. They’re clearly good actors but they just given weak material and asked to give very, very restrained acting in these films against their wishes. It’s a real shame, now that that’s over I hope Ewan can really shine and give us the trie Obi Wan performance we’ve been waiting 2 decades for.
