I'm not really sure. They seem pretty dedicated to being woke, but at the same time, this is a lot of money. I think there were like 9 Coke bottling facilities in Russia, and I'd assume those supplied basically all of their eastern markets.

i wouldn't be so sure about kiev capitulating immediately once surrounded. leningrad held for over 2 years against the german forces besieging the city, and that army was probably a lot more ruthless and brutal than the current russian army is. also, a more recent example, sarajevo in bosnia held out against besieging serb forces for almost 4 (!) years.

Leningrad was never completely surrounded and often not actually under siege. They were able to move both people and supplies across Lake Lagoda into the city. By 1942, there was a fuel pipeline operating through the lake supplying the city. The land siege was broken in January 1943. But because reasons we have to pretend it lasted until 1944. The obvious question is why if all this was true was the loss of life so high in the city? The answer is that the Soviets had other priorities than delivering food to the population of the city and were uninterested in evacuating its population.

Sarajevo is a different situation. The Yugoslav National Army (the Serbian Army) would have been completely capable of taking the city. But for political reasons it was withdrawn and the fight was taken over by a Bosnian Serb Militia which was neither armed nor trained to a good standard. Then NATO intervened under United Nations authority and essentially lifted the actual siege. "Peacekeepers" provided everyone with the resources necessary to keep the fighting in the city going indefenately and ensured that the scale of the fighting would be conducted on a level that ensured a stalemate.

People will also bring up "Stalingrad". But that city was also never under an actual siege. The unique circumstance of Stalingrad was that it had a major river behind it. The Soviet Union could constantly push new forces and new supplies into the fight for the city without any real limit at all. The Soviet Union could also delver supporting fire from the other side of the river into the city. Rather than being a siege, Stalingrad was more of a war of attrition fought inside a city.

Without security council resolutions or a NATO intervention, any attack on Kiev would be a very traditional sort of siege. There would be no resupply from the outside of food, water or ammunition. The rules of Sarajevo would not apply. And its likely that they would eventually take the town.
