Pretty scary to think that somebody with the same mindset as many of the troons in this thread managed to become relatively famous.

This was posted way, way earlier in this thread, but when I went to his Instagram account to find the original post, I think it was deleted or hidden.

This is deeply disturbing to read, especially since Schafer apparently wrote it as a young teenager. He began to transition very young, too, and is counted as a success story because he passes and is seen as beautiful. But how does a child come up with the idea that being a woman is being used by men? How does a child discover his sexual fantasies about being eaten (and, through that, dominated and controlled)? Why is he thinking so much about the politics of rape?

This is someone who, at the very least, was exposed to serious hardcore pornography at a young age, and possibly worse, like grooming or even CSA. This is clearly someone who is deeply damaged. I know radical feminists like me are accused of being prudes or worse in regards to our attitudes about pornography, but this is another reason why porn is so damaging to all people, but especially children and young people. Who would Hunter have grown up into if he hadn’t been exposed to this early in his life, associating femininity with being devoured or dominated or raped and deciding he wanted that for the rest of his life? And is it wise for Western society to glorify and lionize deeply damaged people like this instead of trying to get them real help?

The main difference between KiwiFarms and a place like Twitter is that while the latter is especially censorious the former does allow more freedom in what you can say. I think most of the change will stem from people who transitioned young (before age 25)...assuming some girls started transitioning around 5 years ago, we’re probably right on track for some women to be realize how badly they’ve fucked their bodies up and to realize they were taken advantage of at a vulnerable time in their lives.

I have looked far and wide and the earliest I can find any mention of puberty blocking as a treatment for trans youth is circa 2015. It really feels like Jazz Jennings was the thing that just made the puberty blocking thing orthodoxy, despite it not working out for him in terms of SRS later. I'd be curious if anyone else has found even a study pointing to puberty blocking as being psychologically beneficial, because I can't find one. It literally seems like people just assume it is, without any sort of follow-up or confirmation at all. For all the talk of "medical science", there really seems to be a lack of actual evidence in this case.

Here is the link to an essay discussing the doubts the Dutch researchers about the protocol, and to the article in which Dutch researchers state that their protocol shouldn't have been blindly copied and pasted worldwide (lol oopsie doopsie).

They say they do 'structural' research into transgender stuff but really it's just experimental research. While some medical breakthroughs came from risky experiments, after the 2011 protocol was published doctors should have considered it and binned it, but we don't live in a sane world. You're absolutely right that they could have predicted the negative effects of puberty blockers and that fact that Dutch research hospitals didn't stop this whole thing is a disgrace.

I won't PL but Dutch research hospitals are hierarchical nightmares in which very little real research is done and toeing the line is much more important than speaking the truth. It's an absolute disgrace, and the main reason why many Dutch people with complex problems go to Germany for healthcare. And right they are.
