I am somewhat impressed that Ame, which often gets mentioned as being the somewhat tech-savvy one in EN, can't build her own computer. She should consult Botan about it.
Ame can totally put together a rig but she don’t know how to troubleshoot parts for error or know how to check if she had defective parts (her 3090 from NZXT was an defective GPU) and she’s too stubborn to send it back for a replacement or RMA (took her awhile to do it I remembered). With so many projects and many things going on in the world, I doubt she can have time and parts to put together another rig.
In the clip, she did say she built her second PC from the ground up. Too bad part availability is such a big factor in building now, though, and if it has been so long, I can understand the hesitation in installing $1000+ components yourself.
It's not even that really. The big reason is it's been next to impossible to get graphics cards yourself through stores. Hell, I only got mine because I won a literal lottery just for the RIGHT to buy one (a Newegg Shuffle). Computer Makers, however, have a direct line to the GPU manufacturers. So it's significantly easier to buy a prebuilt to get a GPU then try to get one yourself. I've even seen richer streamers build their own computer minus GPU, buy a prebuilt JUST for the GPU, then cannibalize it into the one they built themselves.
Ame can build a pc herself. She said she was just too lazy to build it herself. But she is going to build her next pc herself.
