the similarities are that who rules iraq is a lot less of america's business than who rules ukraine is russia's business.

however flimsy russias justification for invading ukraine might be, they are a million times better than americas justification for invading iraq. that is the point. ukraine is actually relevant to russian national security, in stark contrast to iraq which is absolutely and entirely irrelevant to american national security.
