You ain't seen nothin' until Ethan Ralph joins Azov.
>Ralph joins the Azov Battalion to own Notorious Paedophile Joshua Conner Moon the same way he owned Andy by going to Portugal
>immediately does a vlog to dunk on Josh and the Kiwis
>because of this the Azov Battalion gets completely Ayy-Lawgged into annihilation by a Russian artillery strike
>Russians then easily take Mariu/pol/'
>the 💪RALPHAMALE survives because is too short and too gunted to be Ayy-Lawgged by any shell, missile or rubble
>the Guntermensch screams out of sheer reflex for GAYDURR before remembering that he too is an Ayy-Lawg now
>he grabs a phone from the mangled corpse of a random Ukrainian victim and immediately starts tweeting how Josh is behind the Russian shelling and capture of Mariu/pol/'
>he posts another selfie and tweets how he survived because CHRIST IS KANG and it was GAWD'S PLAN
>Kiwi Ayy-Lawgs once again seething, dilating and out of HRT
>KILLSTREAM BABY!!!

"Letting people do what they want and not stopping them looks like more than letting people do what they want."

I'm going to have to disagree here
when some american dudes with american passports carrying american gear show up to fight against your army, it looks an awful lot like american soldiers.
sure american politicians can say "nuh-uh they're not really our soldiers" but it will look a lot like back in 2014 when russia said "nuh-uh those aren't actually russian soldiers" when armed russians in combat gear started appearing in crimea to prepare and execute its separation from ukraine (and later its annexiation to russia)

Not supporting Russia, but they have every right to treat a foreign fighters in Ukraine as mercs.

I've said from the start, the second a country is encouraging this behavior instead of downright condemning it, they're using it to get around the geneva convention to get certain people in there.

The volunteers are by definition not mercenaries. You can change the definition of the word in your own head, but they literally aren't.

There's a huge difference between actively ordering people to war, and letting people decide to go on their own initiative. Both of these things hurt diplomatic relations but on wildly different scales. That's the way it's been for over 100 years. It's not a new concept.

As a result of a clash near Kiev, soldiers of the Russian special forces unit eliminated two senior officers of the Main Intelligence Directorate (SBU) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
Colonel Akhmedov Oleg
Colonel Sokol Dmitry
With them, intelligence officers had American C4 explosives, fuses, a map of the area with marked life support facilities for settlements.

wouldn't be the first time a state orders soldiers to carry out some operation without wearing identification, while publically denying that an operation is being carried out.

i'm not saying that this is happening, i'm saying that this is what it will probably look like to the russians who encounter these foreign fighters.

Where did you hear they were getting paid? That's news to me
Lots of posts about this. I don't have a primary source for you right now.

In any case, even if it weren't true, what are they, if not mercenaries? Foreign nationals, not in the Ukrainian military, not serving members of a different military, actively engaged in the hostilities, being armed and supported by the Ukrainian government? Is the question of payment really the only thing preventing them from being considered "mercenaries" officially? Do the Geneva Conventions have a different title for them if they do it for free?

I hate the fact people are willingly going over to go to a desolate warzone on a losing side and almost definitely die due purely to how rotted on Marvel and Social Justice their brains are, but I think it's fucking hilarious that Reddit will ACTIVELY TRY TO STOMP OUT people who try to get these idiots to reconsider and value their life.

Like, Russians aren't killing these people as much as Reddit is

natural selection doin its thing

The Russians aren't retarded. They have the same access to information we do. And they've pulled the same shit with volunteers. They know how it works. And they can tell the difference between trained US special forces and troons who served in an army kitchen. You can bet your ass if they find actual US forces they'll raise hell about it. A lot more than from volunteers.

It doesn't matter what international courts decide. If Russia wants to treat them as unprotected, that's what they'll do. No country can stop them as their citizens are criminals going to go murder Russians of their own accord. They are volunteers. They can't be mercenaries without being paid by the very definition of the word. Look through the history of every war since the 17th century. People volunteered to fight in wars. They are just called volunteers. Usually because they hated commies, or fascists, or the English. Sometimes the country they fought for would grant them citizenship at the end.
