r/VolunteersForUkraine - The ManChildren's Crusade of 2022

Alright fellas I just figured out how to take off in Microsoft flight simulator. Am I ready to fly with the ghost of Kyiv yet? She's my hero, well her and the grandpa of Kharkiv. Unfortunately I don't have the prerequisite training to stick toothpicks into masterlocks yet.
Spend at least 50 hours in warthunder and you'll have your wings

To be perfectly honest a nice bolt action would be a lot better than an AK for survivability if Russia is just shelling and bombing everything. Fire one good shot and fucking run/hide.
Forgotten Weapons made a great video explaining why bolt-actions are more or less obsolete in modern warfare. This whole idea of "you only need one good shot" and "it's better to have a large caliber in a bolt-action over an intermediate in a semi-auto" is just boomer fuddlore

So brave, so willing to put it all on the line for global democracy that he runs home the first time a bomb goes off and someone he knows gets killed. What did he think would happen, the Russians would sing Kumbaya with them and they’d bond over MLP?

You’ve got to wonder about the national militaries that these men have apparently served in, if they honestly expect not to face injury or death in a war situation.
They thought they'd be blowing up tanks with single shots from RPG's and turkey shooting Russians who would all start fleeing in a disorganized mess after the first few bullets started flying, because that's what social media and video games taught them to expect.

And assuming that any of them actually served and their military service wasn't fake, remember that most soldiers in most first world countries have seen no actual combat action. They've done a lot of drills, and maybe policing some shithole country overseas for the UN or as part of an alliance with the US, and the latter are the more experienced soldiers. Even for many US soldiers that's their experience in the service. Not everyone served in the Middle East and got shot at by Muhammed.

I nominate the Ukrainian Foreign Volunteer Legion for this year’s collective Darwin award.

ETA Also I want to add I LOVE how people are just volunteering the Ukrainian people for insurrection after Russia wins. Like ‘oh yeah don’t worry the people of Ukraine will totally risk their lives to make me feel better about this.‘ Fucking hell.

The past few days there have been dozens of stories (propaganda) about a Canadian sniper who volunteered. I'd post a link but there are too many to choose from.

Welp. Rumors flooding the zone that he dead. I'll post confirmation if/when it comes.

Random uncomfirmed Twitter jpg's, so good enough for me:
