I think some people are looking a bit too much into it

DM-ing a campaign for a bunch of friends/acquitances who just wanna stream it semi casually might be less stressful than DM-ing it for friends/co-workers and streaming it to large as fuck audience by virtue of it being a full HoloMyth endeavour

That and with the just average numbers it was probably more prudent to quietly drop it while having more easy collabs that will pull greater numbers

It definitely did. Calli is a fine GM but expecting it to pull Critical Role numbers or even have that level of quality is stupid, but it seems every broadcast game of a TTRPG has those expectations. Thank Matt Mercer for that shit.
Honestly, it's more the so-called fans fault than Mercer's. It's common fucking sense that not everyone that plays /tg/ is a professional voice actor, or theater major, or fucking Vin Diesel and Joe Manganello. Not everyone has Wizard's of the fucking Coast/Hasbro sponsoring them, metric fucktons of budget and a fully decked studio, either. DnDtards are a special kind of fucking idiots.

For what it was, Calli made an attempt, and maybe it could have been "better", but I'll cut her serious slack since she went in blind into uncharted waters. Seriously, DM'ing with just pen and paper can be rough enough, doing it while v-tubing, in different timezones, while everyone else is new to this, trying to make special overlays for the streams, handling bgm, and the dice program always getting scuffed as fuck, and so on... Jesus, just writing all this is stressing me the fuck off.

I would care less if she had bothered to finish the HoloEN one first. You know, the one with her actual coworkers?
Her actual anituber (((friends))) take the priority you know...
Not sure if it's boldness or stupidity but she really don't give a fuck at this point about mixing her lives.

She ain't Syd and can't get away with it as easily but I'm guessing she already cleared this with J-Chad so no harm no foul.
I doubt she consulted this with Cover honestly, it's not like she would have to -much like her roommate streams don't have to be okayed by hololive manager, I doubt any of this shit would be allowed if they could stop it. There are a lot of things that holomem could theoretically do using their "private" accounts but don't due to bad optics etc.
It honestly feels like Karen is trolling again and I'm fully expecting another prolonged menhera episode when some members (like less than 5) politely tell her how they don't like it because she can't deal with any level of pushback from them.

As someone who has lost interest in every TTRPG session I've ever attempted, it doesn't seem that wild to me that Mythbreakers just fell apart and Karen's trying it again with a new group. It's so easy to drum up enthusiasm for a campaign and then burn out when the actual game starts. You really need the right group with the right schedule to keep things consistent and fun, and if it doesn't pan out, it is what it is.

The only thing I'll bitch about is I think people are too eager to start recording their first campaign just to emulate the success of shows like Critical Role. I get the temptation to start recording so the audience can be a part from day 1, but there's so many TTRPG attempts that fizzle out that I have zero faith in new groups to actually put out something past the honeymoon phase.

It's understandable that TTRPGs aren't everyone's cup of tea, but it is somewhat disappointing when the future of a series like Mythbreakers is left hanging for months with no word as to if it will ever be pursued again. They can issue a statement signifying the end of that series, and it could definitely be phrased in a way that doesn't blame anyone at all (just saying that it's too hard to coordinate a game over multiple time zones would probably be enough, really).

Leaving people hanging is just disappointing, but sometimes it happens (Gura will never play RDR II again, chumbuds). I personally think it's better to just acknowledge it and let people down gently so they know it won't be continuing. Ignoring it and hoping people will forget about it seems odd, considering the relative popularity of it (I realize it wasn't a blockbuster series, but it was fun. Watoto forever!).

These bitches play/start games all the time and often drop and never revisit them again due to interest/difficulty/more fun shit to do/play. TTRPG isn't all that different, Callie/Karen's passion for it notwithstanding. Let's not even get into how they just got past the slow-ass month of February where every other EN member has either been sick, traveling, busy with personal shit, etc - let alone now prepping for Holofes. Making an announcement puts a finality to it when just leaving it open-ended means they can always just schedule a session/collab later once everyone's schedule opens back up.

Honestly, this just feels like Karen needing to scratch the TTRPG itch and her chuuba friends just are too busy/scattered/not interested to play so she's playing it with her IRL ones instead.

Probably true, but I always thought that Mythbreakers took a lot more preparation and effort than most of their collabs. It's not like installing a Steam game and being ready to go by a certain time. Karen put a huge amount of work into it. I was thinking that maybe in the past few months, someone would have eventually said 'Oh, starting a new campaign? Maybe you should tell people the old campaign is kaput'?, but eh...they are a bunch of scatterbrains.

Now if Haachama put together a campaign...? That would be the stuff of legend, and it would probably end in fatalities...aw, never mind. Yagoo just said "Oh, hell no."

So this is why Finana still isn't on the collab yet...

Question for those that actually watched all the TTRPG streams.
Did the myth girls sound like they were enjoying themselves?

I only watched the character creation stream and a few dozen clips and just from those clips it seems like only Ina was really into it. Of course clips don't tell the whole story so I really don't know.

I think they more or less used it as an excuse to hang out.

Gura, Kiara, and Ina absolutely were. I can't really say the same for Ame.

Karen doing more stuff as demondice is probably going to be a net positive for both mori and dd, while a schizo part of me wants to go head first into the "shes planning on leaving hololive to make it on her own" rrat , that isn't the case.
Her being able to be more open and free as DD will hopefully help her not be retarded as mori , and as much disdain as i have anitubers , its clear she's friends with the trash taste guys and if they were just using her for views she'd guest alot more. Hopefully if she can build up a bigger presence as demondice she can feel more comfortable as mori and make better content all around.

This. Entering into this entire conversation like it's 100% Karen's fault and/or responsibility to make sure the MythTTRPG thing is still going is a bullshit move.

Edit:

Isn't Meowri the one that got Mizkif banned for a week+ because she claimed they "sexually harassed" her when she was drunk at TwitchCon. Yet it was streamed and it was clearly her harassing them
Looks like you're correct Anchor:

I've only ever perceived Bunny as a giggly ball of positivity. Considering A) The track record of this other streamer, and B) The fact she publicly said "Oh yea, let's talk in private about this thing" while also airing out shit that supposedly happened is a bad fucking look.

Anyone got any insight into either of these people?
