In a military conflict we'd either kick their asses or everyone gets nuked. The issue is that Russia isn't exactly incompetent in the espionage and sabotage game and could hurt us in plenty of other ways such as economically or by sparking internal civil conflict or funding a terror attack or some shit.

I am sure it is a surprise party for Gavrilov and they are going to Dubai to bring him presents and after they put him in the basement in Lubyanka and attach car battery wires to his balls the door will suddenly open and Putin will enter and be all like HAHA I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU FELL FOR IT and confetti will fall from the ceiling and Lavrov is turning back because he completely forgot about it bless his little cotton socks and he does not want to miss it because it is too much fun

i heard that there's an ongoing exodus of middle and upper class russians happening over the last few weeks, apparently a lot of russians are extremely pessimistic about the future, and some fear that putin might close the borders or make emigration illegal at some point in the near future, so they are trying to get out ASAP
