He claimed just about every act of chechnyan terrorism to be a false-flag by Putin, even if the islamists took credit for it.

Right, I am one of the few people here countering the Russian bullshit, so I must have an agenda. Funny thing was I was right there thinking that a lot of the Russia hate is overblown. Hell I still think most of the sanctions by companies especially is counter productive, and the reach of Russia's cyberwarfare efforts also overblown.

Then the war breaks out, and every counter culture populist rightie, or anti establishment lib starts tossing out reams after reams of bullshit about how the war is all the USs fault. The best being a talk by a professor from like six years ago. You know who has even worse foreign policy proscriptions than the DoD? Foreign Policy professors who couldn't even get a job doing what they wanted to do and actually influence government policy.

And in all of that, not even a nominal discussion of Putin's part in it. They act as if Putin and Ukraine have no agency, that US actions control everything they do, which is arrogant as fuck. It's the "White people cause minority crime!" argument on an international scale. Of course, the US negotiations have had an effect, of course, Ukraine not folding to Putin had an effect, but you know who is the most to blame for Putin invading?

Everyone just constantly spouting every random-ass bit of info found on Russian media or Tiktok is 100% on the level. Some of the shit is plausible, Russia is likely doing better than the Ukrainians would want us to think. Ukraine clearly uses propaganda to sell their plight on the international stage, because without assistance they are likely fucked. The Ghost of Kyiv is rightfully mocked. Yet not even a smidge of questioning the Putin narrative as a whole.

Here is the truth, Russia should have never fucking invaded. They were wrong to do so and every excuse they have is ridiculous on its face. Putin has a history of convincing people that whatever he is doing isn't so bad, really... by half-truths and flat-out lies. He knows no one will ever actually like him on the world stage, so he has to. He just miscalculated this time.

And he jerks off in his room while crying wishing he was as badass as Papa Joe.

Give it time, I'd wager. There's still regional distribution centres that will undoubtably contain inventory of all these essentials. When/if those run out, then we shall be seeing the true shortage.

I don't think you appreciate how catastrophic losing the status of reserve currency will be. Its going to lead to Weimar tier hyperinflation as every nation starts dumping their stash of US dollars as they shift to a basket of various currencies, all of that inflation that the US exports abroad will come crashing back with a vengeance, go look at how fast inflation spiked after Bretton Woods collapsed in the so called "Nixon Shock." Britain and France were absolutely FUCKED as a result of their World War 1 and 2 expenditures and collapse of their empires, this lasted almost all the way into the late 80s, a period of 40-50 years. Russia is still dealing with the collapse of the USSR and being totally frank, Putin's steady hand was a large factor in how well Russia has recovered, which by Western standards is not much at all, the country is still a shithole but at least they have food in their fucking grocery stores now. When the US loses the status of reserve currency its going to an implosion so hard that likely the entire globe is going to enter a second Great Depression as the center of the financial world gets displaced just like it did when it shifted from London to NYC in the wake of World War 1.

I don't think the planners and schemers behind things understand the concepts of trust and loyalty. The United States has weaponized SWIFT. Every country knows that access to SWIFT actually depends on following international banking rules (which are US-dominated) + submitting your foreign policy to the US Department of State. I guarantee you lots of ranking officials across the world are uncomfortable with this, and this increases the motivation to ignore US attempts to cut Russia off from the global economy and find ways to decrease the amount of economic leverage the USA has with them.

A similar thing applies to our backing of the US government in Kiev. No, we didn't have a formal treaty signed. But we've got senior US Senators on video urging Ukraine to go on the offensive against Russia, promising US support. NATO held a joint military exercise with Ukraine to rehearse offensive operations against Russia last year. And, of course, significant bribes were paid to the Vice President of the United States and other key members of the US government. But when the chips came down...eh, here are some Javelins, I guess.

Nobody's going to trust Washington after this. The only tool the USA has left now is coercion. We're no longer even attempting to manage the dollar responsibly--when even India is doing a better job of currency management than the US, that's humiliating--so it really is just bullying at this point.
