Ran across this on TERF Twitter today. Never heard of this organization (which means absolutely diddly-squat, if you were to list all the organizations I haven't heard of you could fill entire terabytes of disk storage) and I don't have any faith that anyone in the government will listen to this complaint, but it's heartening to see someone standing up for women. Well done and I hope my cynicism is misplaced for once.

Having (PL) gone through the nursing home thing with my folks, even with a power of attorney it is almost impossible to throw someone into a nursing home without their permission, they literally have to be lying in their own shit for days and in danger of killing themselves. Without permissions you have to front up to the lawyers office with your drooling vegetable parent in a wheelchair before they even start looking at options.

Also there’s a big push to get end-of-life stuff sorted out early. One reply mentioned power of attorney, and you can guarantee they’re not going to give it to their mentally ill child

Yeah, people misunderstand what a POA actually does. POAs can only be used when the person is actually incompetent and unable to make their own decisions. Example: your parent is severely injured in a car crash, and is now a vegetable. The person with the medical POA can now make medical decisions on the parent's behalf since the parent literally can't anymore.

Like you said, you can't just force someone in a nursing home against their will, and that's a good thing. It's pretty messed up to see troons talk about how they're going to stick their parents in a nursing home any time there's a disagreement. They know nursing homes are notoriously horrible places.

confirms they are hearing things that aren’t there and other schizophrenic symptoms. i feel that the DID and alters are some of the things they’re hearing, and instead of reasonably attributing it to the schizophrenia they describe these voices like they’re writing a fanfiction.

i’m glad the women in the replies to this guy aren’t taking this shit anymore. i think the more women that are vocal about it the easier it’ll be for the more silent/passive ones to speak up about how they feel too
