Almost 8 years ago on the 2nd of June 2014 the Ukrainian army bombed Lugansk.

Explosion at around 0:16 in the upper left corner.
At least 5 women and 3 men died.

At 1:50 she's still alive but moments later she died.

something I found interesting: I work with a lot of middle eastern and Indian immigrants and if I ask any of them about the war they take being pro-Russia as a given.
They see Ukraine as American backed so Russia pushing Ukraine's shit in, is the same as Russia pushing America's shit in.

Have westerners really forgotten there is whole world out there that hates its guts and has far more beef with the west than they do with the Russians?

Had a dream that artillery or missile strikes were hitting where I live. A little bit worrying
I remember back when I was younger being fucking petrified of being nuked by by Iraq because of 'desert fox'. I still remember the images in the media of the missiles launching, the maps of where their nukes could reach, etc.

Yeah, the media's always been fucked

>you will never be a no-life heavily brainwashed and fanatical reddit moderator, spending countless hours in your younger years in life banning any comments that depict reality in the Russo-Ukranian war, resulting in even more redditors traveling there to get brutally massacred
If there's any basis in fact to this statement, then holy shit are they stupid. I mean, if you have prior combat experience and/or family/roots in the area, I completely understand going, as long as you know what you are getting into.

Your average smoothbrain Redditor is typically not any of these, and many who are going probably don't even speak a local language and likely assume that everyone speaks English anyway.

Until Russia manages to actually go on a significant offensive again or Ukraine does a significant counteroffensive, it's going to be slow. Things are turning into a virtual stalemate pretty quickly.
Ukraine has a simple advantage, which is having the home field. Russia has to continue sending supplies like fuel, food & ammo to their own men without letting it get stolen, sabotaged or dropping it into enemy-held territory.

I've seen several cope posts suggesting that Russia doesn't want to take Kiev, they don't want to conquer the country, all while they continue to advance slowly & make no retreat whatsoever. If it's really true that the Russian army actually are pulling punches then that just means they're wasting fuel, food, water & what precious little money Moscow has left in faux-humanitarian virtue signaling while the disgruntled native populace blow up their tanks with righteous, unflinching indignation. Not to mention that the longer they go on like this the harder it will be to acquire the same resources as before in less amounts than previous quantities.

Meanwhile Ukraine is receiving donated weapons & supplies left & right while Russia was just kicked off of SWIFT, forcing them to sell their natural gas at a catastrophic loss.

Taking longer than necessary to accomplish whatever their true objective is on purpose is an active detriment to their own army.

It is also entirely possible that the Russian Army simply doesn't want to be there & is dragging their ass on purpose to make the diminishing returns more painful for Moscow.

The question is are they incapable, stupid or insubordinate?

Not very related to the topic.
Can an American or someone with knowledge on their schooling system indulge me in answering a question?
I find it peculiar that a lot of American jewtubers struggle to death with foreign names.
Is phonetic transcription taught in schools and people just forget with time? Or are they taught only in like, linguistics schools?
I think part of it is just that it's pretty normal in America to just Americanize everyone's name and most people are pretty easy going about it because there's so many ethnicities here most people aren't going to take the time to figure out how to pronounce each one and are just like "lol, I can't pronounce that, sorry"

It comes off dumb when YTers who like to pretend they're a news source do it though. If you can't be bothered to take 5 minutes to look up phonetic pronunciation then why should anyone trust any of your other "research"

That said, English speakers have an extremely hard time with slavic phonetics and even if you show them how something is pronounced in the simplest terms they literally can't get their mouths to cooperate to actually say them.

I think Putin was probably (imo) betting on Zelensky being a bitch & hiding in the background in the early days, causing conflict within their heirachy - eventually rolling to Russia's demands. Instead, Zelensky has stood up and taken charge, and united many Ukrainians. I don't think there's many that would've doubted Putins logic considering who Zelensky is and how he was elected, but I've gained a bunch of respect for the man as has much of the world tbh. Yes we get fed bullshit and propoganda about Zelensky, but there's no denying he is causing many more problems than anyone expected.

Honestly, the question formed when I actually heard some non-slavic yt commentator (not CRP, although he could do it well if he cared to) actually pronounced Ukrainian town names correctly which entails that he had some research done.
That was out of norm which perked me up enough to ask.

How are the Russians selling natural gas at a loss? Everything I've read indicates that Europeans are buying as much of it as they can get at market prices. And you say other people are coping.

A Chechen unit has allegedly captured Mariupol’s steel mill (celebrating with the obligatory Allah Akbar).
I’m too retarded to know what it may mean on a strategical level.
I saw something a couple of days ago about how that's where a bunch of Azovis were holed upScreen Shot 2022-03-18 at 21.43.14.pngScreen Shot 2022-03-18 at 21.43.27.pngScreen Shot 2022-03-18 at 21.43.41.png

Probably nothing in the grand scheme of things. Likely it's just another small dot on the map to be checked off, but a building cleared is a building cleared. Any and all productive facilities captured by the Russians aren't going to be useful in the short term.
