Yeah, that story sounds dumb. The Sun's source is even more lol:

intercepted by Belarusian media source NEXTA,
Wtf is a NEXTA?

Nexta is a Belarusian media outlet that is primarily distributed through Telegram and YouTube channels. The YouTube channel was founded by then 17-year-old student Stsiapan Putsila.[1][2] The channel's headquarters are located in Warsaw, Poland, after its founder went into exile.[3]
A "media outlet", run by a 21 year old YouTuber, telling stories about Russians trying to find "Ukrainian ammo" to shoot themselves with, being recycled as if it was legit news. Fuckin journalists, man :story:

A notable quote

How would anyone know the difference? What is the difference? Not buying it because to do this would require you get Vasily to shoot your leg to make it not obvious and the retarded quote up there.
There is quite the difference bullet forensics has advanced quite a bit.

Yeah, lets take huge mediocre units consuming lots of fuel and supplies and act quickly to rush forward to size objectives unsupported without securing the flanks or logistics routes. What ever could go wrong.

Goddamn does Russian armor doctrine suck. It's almost self-sabotaging.
It could almost work if they had good support from their infantry and could go off road. The problem cones from the fact that Russia refuses to do any fucking maintenance on their vehicles which fucks them up.
Even with regular trips to the depot and PMCS, a military vehicle will get really bitchy and start fucking up. You can take the damn things on convoy through the interstate and it would still find some way to shit the bed and that's with a good maintenance team. These fucks didn't do their homework at all.

For once we have Ukrainian sources claiming a Ukrainian officer was killed in action... they say Colonel Oleg Zenchenko, commander of the 25th Seperate Airborne Brigade was killed in Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast.

Ukraine high-ups being KIA is a bit more understandable considering their situation, at least.
>Airborne Brigade
Remind me never to join the unit that jumps out of planes holy shit.

Already been reminded Ukraine is stuck in CCCP days with small arms but then that would mean Russians would need the Ukrainian ammo and the Ukrainian rifle, which I can't imagine is that hard to come across but raises further red flags. I believe it when they get some deserter russky to confirm it.

edit: Though apparently Ukes aren't stuck in CCCP days with small arms according to post below. Still, I'm sure they're fielding far more x39 in general than Russians are. Either way that story smells like fish.

Well, assuming that's accurate, it's marginal. Take it further and say the passport document is fake or that the maternal name isn't Jewish, Putin is still the absolute polar opposite of based, and follows an agenda ADL would endorse (faked discovery of Nazi paraphernalia as seen on Telegram included, they'd admire the cold chutzpah). There is no hesitation in allowing Neo-Nazi formations to march and beat up various people, only then to be then suppressed, but that's just a cynical pragmatism. While the likes of Мир без нацизма might be just another cynical tool, and are to be degree, Putin has taken extraordinary case to get on well with Israel. It makes his crank alt-right support, and assorted cranks like Archbishop Viganó, seem a bit silly).

Men injuring themselves to avoid military service or to bring it to an end is probably as old as soldiering (Theodosius Magnus had such malingers burnt and their domnus had to provide a suitable substitute), but this might be suggestive that Russian morale is on the floor. More evidence might be needed, and the evidence so far, remains a bit uncertain.

Far as I am concerned, we should take in more Ukrainian refugees. Infinitely better than just about any "refugees" we've taken in over the past few years.

Unfortunately I imagine they’ll stay in Poland where TPTB can create another country to keep divided and weaker to feed off of. Historically speaking Ukraine and Poland have had tensions between each other and during and immediately after WWII there was a great deal of ethnic violence that the both of them committed on each other. Time will tell if the old wounds have healed but the longer this refugee crisis continues the more strain is going to be put on the Polish state to house and feed them.

It's dumb that the Rosgvardia are part of the fighting in Ukraine.

They're trained to control the population in civilian areas.

Sending the Russian Rosgvardia into battle would be as if America sent SWAT units into future extremely dangerous warzones like Taiwan or North Korea.

They're not adequately trained or equipped for war.

It's just extremely fucking stupid.
